I'm very sad that this adapter doesn't work for my need because it would have been the perfect solution and apparently nobody makes what I need. I have a nice 30" HP LP3065c 2560x1600 dual-link DVI display that I'm trying to connect to a new Apple MacBook Pro late 2016 with Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports. Apple doesn't make an adapter and it seems neither does anyone else so this is turning out to be a challenging connection.  In fairness to the manufacturer, I gave the product three stars even though it won't work for me because they do state that it only works up to a resolution of 2560x1440 which is slightly below the 2560x1600 that I need

  I don't know if it works at lower resolutions because I'm only setup to test at 2560x1600 and I get nothing on the display. The MBP does correctly detect the display type as HP LP3065c and 2560x1600 and it appears as if its working on the laptop side, but the display is unfortunately completely blank and goes into sleep mode as if nothing is connected to it.  Otherwise the design of the product is perfect, including nice housing, connector, cable length, etc. It is an active adapter with a perfect implementation, ie it powers itself from the USB-C port and has a small blue LED that isn't obnoxiously bright that indicates it is receiving power

No go connecting my 2018 Macbook Air to my Apple 23" HD Cinema Display.  But CM support was prompt.

 Physically, the cable appears to be made well. It has a plastic case with LED that lights on use.
