Brooks B17

A Brooks B17 is the only thing I'll use anymore. They've been making that saddle the same way in the same factory since 1866 because it works. It's basically a leather butt hammock. Once it's broken in you'll never want to sit in anything else.

I've always had a Brooks B17 (same saddle but without the suspension springs) and I love them. It doesn't take long for the leather to soften and get comfortable. I wouldn't ride with any other saddle.

Saddle choice is very personal; I get on well with my Brooks B17 and my Spa Nidd (similar, but half the price). You may not.

The good news is that if you don't like a Brooks resale prices are high. Keep the box and its contents as new!

I was all excited about this saddle. It arrived today and I am so disappointed. The rails and frame are not properly lined up with the leather. It looks like the rails are either bent or weren't lined up correctly when it was riveted. Anyone else seeing this in their build? Are these genuine Brooks....

I recently switched to a Brooks B17 and absolutely love it. After a few months of heavy riding I can now easily ride 60+ mi. Without any discomfort whatsoever.

Be very careful and research your bike clamp and these saddles. I had to grind down my saddle clamp to get it far back enough, and it still needs more. Most saddle rails are straight, these can give you unacceptable issues, so buyer beware. Still probably the best saddle on the planet for comfort.

A Brooks B17 is a good choice for most bikes and riders. The leather will eventually conform to your sit bones. The break in process takes a little time.

the rails on this saddle are VERY SHORT. you may have to replace your seat post with a lay back post in order to get the full benefit of this saddle.
