 So, on to the first post Christmas knife review. This knife was a Christmas present which I'm very pleased about. I have been given instructions should I choose to do a review. I've been told to be completely honest and not to be polite just because it was a gift

 I've had a bit of a tickle on the edge and it is looking a lot better. I don't know if you can pick up on the video it's quite a toothy edge which is always to some degree going to be a feature of a Damascus blade because of all the layers and with this steel having relatively few layers it's probably safe to assume that that toothiness is going to be exaggerated. However it can be tickled up into a nice edge and in fairness it's perfectly common for knives to ship with a factory edge that's less than razor sharp. It's not unusual at all and certainly not a big issue

 We have to bear in mind that the type of knife that this looks like, a premium high quality elegant pocket knife with a Damascus steel blade, you'd probably be looking at paying £250-£300 quite easily. So the fact that Boker have managed to be able to produce this at all at £35-£40 is impressive. If we look at the fit and finish you've got the back spring there between the two steel liners and then the stainless steel bolsters it's really good fit. Very very tiny spaces between the bolster and the scale in some places but completely negligible, completely negligible

 I have been given instructions should I choose to do a review. I've been told to be completely honest and not to be polite just because it was a gift. So that's what I'm going to do. It's a Magnum by Boker lock knife as you'll probably gather from the title of the video and yeah, it's a Christmas present so let's have a look and see what you think

 However I am finding some discoloration around the edges of the blade for some reason. I will keep an eye on it and update my review if necessary.

So Far So Good

 Of course Boker makes knives in both Germany and China but this is a budget Boker and it's the Boker Magnum line. Inside the sleeve you've got this little case, a little tin and it's embossed. Comes in, has a couple of little pamphlets, one in English and one in German. And then you get a cut out for your knife with some desiccant

 And you get this lovely little drop point blade with the nail nick. There's nothing on the tang there. Just plain. The only writing you get is the Boker Magnum edge

 And then a Chinese-made knife. So there you have it, guys. It's a nice little pocket dropper if you're looking for a little lock back that won't set you back much. And it's well made and got a 440A stainless blade

 Here's the thickness of it. Just got that flat grind. There's a look at the blade edge on the opposite side. Now on this side of the blade, at the tang you have the blade still designated there as 440A

 Not bad. Just a little bit of fraying right there. But it does the job. This is one of those knives that very simple drop point blade

 Of course the handle material is G10. Frame is stainless steel so is it obviously. So it's a liner lock five ounces. It's set up for right hand tip-up carry only

 The knife's blade comes razor sharp. It's damascus blade is very attractive; though keep in mind that the appearance of a true damascus blade does vary depending on the number of layers, its content, and the folding process. I will likely display this knife and choose not to use it. However, it hasn't made it to my display case just yet because I can't seem to put it down! Whether you looking for an addition to your collection or a knife for daily use, I would suggest you buy one while there is adequate inventory
