Maybe TOO well built!
This knife is great, the size is a bit intimidating, but I knew that going in. It had a decent edge on it right out the box and the action is smooth. Its a joy to flip open using the flipper or the thumb stud, and I can even do a spidey flip despite the massive size. Here's the issue.... Closing thi...

Knife recommendation for an 18 year old
The Civivi lineup is solid. I love my praxis. For a beater you could go with Rat Ontario 1 or boker kalashnikov for an auto. Those are my favorites.

It's a beast!
Ok I usually don't like made in China blades...but this thing is a beast. With D2 steel it looks like it can handle anything. I liked the lock in screw it comes with to keep the blade closed or open. This would be a great tool for cutting up carpet or remodeling.
