 If you are a hard-charging skier, these are not going to be the skis for you, but they were able to carve super, super well on the groomers. These skis are super poppy and super playful. I was able to nose-butter and press these all day long. I would not recommend this ski to somebody who's looking for a stiffer carving ski

 These skis performed a lot better on the groomers than I thought they were going to, since they were more of a beginner ski. I was able to carve some really fast turns on them, and didn't really have them flopping around too much. They were super easy to turn, so definitely good for beginners in that respect. Intermediates, though, for sure would enjoy these

They do have a twin shape, which I thought was interesting and unusual for a beginner intermediate ski, but it made them pretty versatile, easy to turn, and I enjoyed skiing on them

 This is not going to be the best ski for advanced expert skiers, and if you're looking for powder, this is probably not the right ski for you. If you really like black crows or you're looking for specifically a twin tip, if you're wanting to ski backwards or you're wanting to learn a little bit more about the terrain park, as well as maybe some trees moguls, it's just really versatile, and I think that this would be a great option for a lot of beginner intermediate women. I've spent a lot of time browsing Facebook marketplace and craigslist to see if I can pick up a pair of used skis. I'm looking for 90-110 mm underfoot but based on my height I'd need skis under 155cm length. I'm willing to go a little longer but I'm not a super agressive skier. 

I'm starting to think these might be pretty rare even new within adult skis. Can anyone confirm my suspicions? Should I just straight out be looking for kid skis? What would the drawbacks be?

If it can't be found used, I'll be continuing to save up for new skis next spring. But starting to worry money isn't going to be the issue.

Edit: thank you to everyone&#39;s input! For reference, height is 5ft, weight is 110. My current skis are racing ones which is why I&#39;m looking for a second pair. Powder in race skis simply is not very fun.

 You can vary your turn shape really easily with this. Bumps, trees, anything tight, technical, this is a great option, as well as just being totally compliant, very poised on groomed terrain as well. So that's it. This is the Black Crows Captus Birdie, a great all-mountain ski from Black Crows

 So for a 90-millimeter ski that's generally pigeon-holed more in the all-mountain category, this has a lot more of a freeride influence to it, and most of it comes down to that taper shape. The tail has it as well, not so much as the shovel, that widest part is about here. We do get the twin tip shape to it as well, and that adds to the playfulness of the ski. Not really a park-style twin tip because it is on the heavier side, but still very playful

I would look at slightly wider skis, they will be easier and more fun in whatever weird three dimensional snow that you might encounter while touring. The Blizzard Sheeva 9 comes in a 146 or a 157 and would be okay for both up and down but It might be on the heavy side. The Black Crows Camox birdie might be a touch lighter and just as fun.

TLDR: Looking to transition from piste to off-piste with touring, short skier, confused about gear length and what to buy.

I am very confused about the length selection of skis. I read the resources linked but it seems like the length selection varies significantly depending on the ski profile. I am 155 cm and 50 kgs, so quite small. I have been primarily skiing on piste for the past 25 years, nothing serious, mostly reds with occasional black runs. So far, I have been a recreational skiier with many good on-piste ski options.

Last year, I got a pair of Nordica Ace Juniors at 146 cm basically for free and have been skiing with them on piste last year and this season, I don't quite enjoy them on piste tbh, they feel a bit unstable but not too bad, just iffy. Outside of piste (previously skied track but still kinda soft snow) they felt very good. And I have no idea why tbh.

So now I am looking to get into skiing off-piste, taking several safety courses and touring training etc. However, I can't seem to decide on what gear I need to buy. I want a pair of all-mountain tourable skis which I can also use to ski off-piste close to resorts which will likely be soft snow (but potentially someone will have skied there already), current conditions are 70 cm in base and 125 cm in the mountain, which is a bit more than expected for this time of the year but pretty typical for the season overall. The mountains are not very high (all below 3000ms), so the temperature fluctuates quite a bit, causing icy patches etc.

So I am basically looking for all-mountain skis, that can double for touring in these mountain conditions. I have been looking at Salomon XDR 79s at 160 cms, as they are stated 50/50 for piste and powder and I have been reading longer skis are more stable generally but I am not even sure if they would be suitable for touring bindings or whether they would be ok at that length? I am also looking to buy Maker Alpinist touring bindings for reference and I have Tecnica Cochise 105 W boots for touring.

In general, as a 155 cm skier, what would be the length range I should be looking at all mountain rocker-camber-rocker profile all mountain skis? And what is the waist range I am looking for? &gt;75 mm up to 95?

Confused About Ski Length &amp; Is This Ski Ok For What I Need?

Black Crows Vertis Birdie. Looking at last years' models to save some $$$. They all sorta blend together after a certain amount of research, but the general idea seems to be that the Black Pearl, Pandora, & Birdie trend towards groomer performance whereas the Ripstick & Maven will be a bit more playful.
