Here's the problem: at that weight and shape, the BC100 is absolute garbage on firm snow. It edges as poorly as anything I've skied. I have a full rocker Chipotle Banana that is better on ice. Light skis fare much worse in 3D snow - especially if you ski marine snow pack.

Bent Chetler 100 length recommendation

At 230 lbs I would never suggest a lightweight ski like the Bent Chetler 100. If you do it anyway, the 188cm and it's not even close.

Help me decide between K2 Mindbender 108 and Atomic Bent Chetler 100

I think the bent chetler is the best all around ski I've ever ridden. I'm a bigger 6 for guy and they just rip everything I've ever thrown at them.

I probably wouldn't recommend going any shorter, unless you really love short turns and don't care about having stability at speed. This year I demoed Atomic bent chetler 100mm at vail and park city. I like the skis but felt I was struggling with them when the snow wasn’t great at park city last week. I just didn’t feel like I had as much stopping power if that even makes sense.

Desperate with choosing new skis (M, 22YO, 55kg, 181cm)

There's a lot of all mountain skis out there that carve well but are also playful enough to throw some tricks on and ski switch from time to time. The Blizzard Rustler 9 comes to mind. Also Line Sick Day 94, Salomon QST 98, Atomic Bent Chetler 100, Liberty Origin 96 and 101, Dynastar M-Free 99, Nordica Unleashed 98 (new for 2023 but available in some stores now). Aim for a length somewhere around your height or slightly shorter given your weight and ability level.

The moment wildcat tour version is nice bc its made w/ something like balsa wood and it also comes in 116 so nice for pow skiing. I personally wouldn't tour on anything less than 116. The atomic bent chetler 120 is also nice for touring.

K2 Poacher vs Atomic Bent Chetler 100 Help

If you're looking for something buttery and playful, the BC100 ain't it. Not sure why this sub has a hard-on for em, but they seem to be the new dad ski. Anyways, skis that you should consider aside from the Poacher, are the K2 Reckoner 102, the Line Chronic, and Line Sir Francis Bacon.

The BC100 is a noodle-y park ski that sucks on ice

I just roll my eyes every time I see someone recommend these skis. It doesn’t matter what type of skier the OP of a thread is, someone will always recommend the BC100. People treat it like the holy grail of 1 ski quivers but it isn’t even close. There are so many other skis that are much better 1 ski quiver skis.
