The kickstand can be tricky to unfold, and it is very hard to pull the probe covers off if you need longer ones. It has a greater tolerance than some other products out there, but this shouldn't matter much unless you are doing very high-end technical work. Despite these small critiques, the AstroAI 6000 is an exceptional digital multimeter. It's a great tool for troubleshooting all sorts of circuits and wiring and is the product we recommend first for most people.

 Even before use, the strain relief where the wire comes out is on the verge of separating so I'm using the 5 year old Doctor Meter probes instead. The AstroA1 meter has performed adequately electrically so far, but it's disappointing that it is so poorly made.

Mediocre quality and hard to use stand

.. BUT the Customer Service was fast to respond and after I showed them what was wrong, they offered and delivered to me complete satisfaction. The Amazon 30 day return window had expired but they stood behind their product

 This one really failed and, at the end, though I had frustrations during a job, they've done the right thing, and nicely. A lot of people seem to like this meter, so maybe most are working fine. I didn't have a positive experience with it, but their company standing behind the customer, made it a better experience overall. I'm, bumping up my original one star review (for a product that didn't function right at all) to three and 1/2 stars for the after purchase customer service I got

 No doubt the magnets in the strap is a useful feature for some people, but for me it turned out to be more of a handicap and introduced the risk of me picking up the meter and dropping it. I don't think I would ever stick those magnets to something and let the meter dangle precariously by the strap anyway. The magnets were a nice thought, but they don't work for me.  Update: I've had it nearly a year

A couple of minor kinks, but overall an excellent multimeter

 I do this for the benefit of the HAM Radio operators who want to repair their own equipment, but who are on a fixed income. I'll post a full review with photos there in a couple weeks. Good for the money, some specs are off.

 I was a bit disappointed by that. But otherwise, it seems to be a pretty nice meter for the price. I bought it primarily to test generator frequency output since we use them quite a bit in my part of the country (hurricane alley) and the generators need to output as close to 60 hz as possible. This meter does work okay for that, after tinkering with it for a bit
