Aston Spirit

If you want an LDC, an Aston Spirit should be just over $400, and should be a large upgrade from your AT2035.

I like my Aston spirit. It’s a great mic. I just got a wa251 and as a tube mic, it’s done wonders on my overly bright vocals.

I had pops, modulation and a white noise issue with this microphone. It sounded okay but I don't want a troublesome microphone for my production. Sent back and bought anther microphone from Amazon.

The Aston spirit is a very very good mic, especially for the price. It's very versatile, i have used it on vocals, bass, guitar, rooms, and even overheads ( a bit bright) or outside kick.

The Aston Spirit is a very bright vocal mic, here's the frequency response for it:. It has 3 patterns so check all of them, will this compliment your voice? I find myself cutting a lot of high end out and using multi-band compressors with it to tame the harshness of my already bright voice.

Sure, there are other mics out there that do the same job, but for the price, this thing is amazing. On the other hand, if you still suggest for me to use a condenser microphone (which I fear is not working as I would like to, due to the lack of treatment of the room), I can get the Aston Spirit, the Aston Origin, the Warm Audio WA87 R2, those three for almost the same price, and lower than an SM7B (more so if we add a fethead to the equation). ​.

Very good mic, nice and interesting design, and it's from U.K. However, when I received and heard the sound from an AKG P220 I decided to use P220. In fact and unexpectedly, I liked the sound from P220 better, and the sound from P220 is also clear and warm.
