 At the heart of these, the Armada Teclivity 92Ti is what Armada call their Articulated Tetanol Banding, or ATB for short. Now ATB is essentially a full sheet of tetanol that runs at full length of the ski, with small cutouts at the tips and the tails. And the gaps between these cutouts are filled with an elastic compound that's said to harness and release the energy at the end of the turn. To complement this tetanol sheet is a Caruba Wood Core

 The Invictus range from Armada was the brand's first attempt at making a more directional ski. This signalled a shift away from the brand's more traditional twin tip shaping. These skis looked like they came straight from a race lab rather than from a brand with its roots firmly set in the free ski culture. Launched in September 2020, Armada claim the Declivity series “fit the needs of the modern resort-based charger,” having been “designed from the ground up with no limitations and featuring one of the most technical builds we have ever achieved.” This sounds like a pretty bold statement to us, but when you’re replacing a range of skis as popular as the Invictus range, you’d better be confident in your delivery.

The Invictus range was one of Armada’s first forays into directional skis, signalling a shift away from their twin-tipped expertise to a more directional shape – the designs looked like it came from a race lab, not a brand with its roots still firmly set in the freeski culture.

Armada Declivity 92 Ti Quickfire Review | Best Skis 2020/2021

Those Bent Chetlers are not going to be great in the Midwest. Buy skis for the conditions you actually ski, not what you dream about skiing. Something narrower like the Nordica Enforcer 88, Salomon Stance 90, Volkl Kendo, Elan Ripstick 96 Black, Atomic Maverick 88 Ti, Armada Declivity 92 Ti.

This year I demoed Atomic bent chetler 100mm at vail and park city. I like the skis but felt I was struggling with them when the snow wasn’t great at park city last week. I just didn’t feel like I had as much stopping power if that even makes sense. I’m used to ice skating on the slopes in the Midwest. I’m looking to buy my first set of skis for next season and know literally nothing about skis. It seemed like the bent chetlers did great when the snow was nice in vail but only so so on older snow. I would like a ski that is all mountain capable with atleast 2/3 of the time spent off piste on black and double blacks. I would also like something nicer up to $1,000 in price.

Looking for advice on first set of skis

 Armada as a brand is kind of known more for their twin tip skis, their freestyle skis. Maybe you think of skis like the JJ, just big wide rockered powder skis. This far and away in my opinion is their best ever directional all-mountain ski, and you can kind of say that about the entire Declivity line from the 82 all the way up to the really the 108 or the Declivity X. But the 82 to the 108 essentially all share the same construction, so let's keep it there for that comparison

 So strong carving ski, good vibration damping will certainly satisfy an advanced expert level skier when it comes to just carving performance, front side carving performance, but it gives you some versatility too, the ability to take it off trail, and I think that also kind of translates to say a less aggressive skier or maybe somebody that's kind of just hovering more around the intermediate ability level. This ski is not going to punish you, it's rather going to kind of give you the opportunity to utilize some of that higher end feel and higher end performance without just feeling like totally out of place or like the ski is too or like the ski is too demanding. So great ski from Armada, glad to have it back on change for 2023. I do like the updated top sheet graphic too, looks pretty snazzy, I think all the Declivity skis do

 Kind of funny because I own a pair, but I don't get the opportunity to ski them nearly as much as I would like to. I actually weirdly chose to hop on this ski at an industry event this season. We had it in our ski test as well. We always have all these skis in our formal ski test, but I skied it, I believe it was down in Pico, and was just pleasantly reminded how much fun it is to ski

 It's pretty darn quick edge to edge. You know, the 82 Ti in the Declivity line is certainly quicker if you want to focus on carving performance. Maybe that one's better for you, but what I really like about the 92 is, gosh, you can take it on even like a six to eight inch powder day and have a lot of fun on it. That tip shape, you know, the amount of rocker that I point out, and it's also a little bit more of a spoonier tip shape than we see from some manufacturers

I mostly ski any groomers, but could occasionally hit sparsely wooded off-piste powder out West. 

I have a 13 years old K2, 77mm underfoot that I barely used. I have been thinking about an 88 to 96 underfoot all mountain/freeride skis... Kendo 88, Mantra m6, Enforcer 94, Head Kore 93. Blizzard Rustler 9, Atomic Maverick 95...

I logically seem to think I should get something in the lower range I cited, an 88 like the kendo, but somehow I lean towards a wider one like the m6.

What do you guys recommend and why?

 And what makes it really cool is between those fingers, you know, if you imagine those fingers in between the sheets of metal is like a rubber or an elastic compound. So as you're flexing the ski in a turn, those metal fingers are actually pressing into each other laterally. And then as you get out of the turn, it's kind of releasing that energy into a nice snappy poppy feel. And that's a good way to and that's a good way to describe these

 But when you have it up on edge, it's got really, really good edge grip. Really long effective edge because it's not like drastic early taper up there. And then construction of these skis is really, really cool too. They use what Armada is calling articulated titanal banding

I like to drop cliffs, I like to shred groomers fast even when they're chopped up, I like to spend time in the air. But most of all I want a ski that is just responsive and *fun* in all conditions (except ice, nothing is fun in ice).

I'm a 100kg bloke skiing in New Zealand, so extemely variable conditions, my resort generally has soft but very packed snow, and lots of natural terrain.

My favorite skis I've ever owned were the Sir Francis Bacon 2014/15 model (with the Pink Floydesque graphic) before they changed them up. But something that can charge a little harder would be ideal. 

Currently looking at the K2 Mindbender range, LOVED Lines Blades and Sakana but something I can ski backwards at least some of the time for switch landings would be better, the Sakana was a little floppy. The atomic maverick was.... Okay, Id give it a second chance but I didn't fall in love with it.

Any suggestions welcome! Even slightly older models if they're common second hand.

Edit: this is New Zealand so we don&#39;t a get some of the popular North American brands like Jskis, On3p. Or they&#39;re hard to find at least.

Main brands here are Line, K2, Salomon, Head, Atomic, Black Crows, Nordica, the really big manufacturers generally, I&#39;ve also seen Liberty around. I welcome more niche suggestions though cus I can probably find something similar!.

What's your best fun but chargy all mountain ski

 I wouldn't quite recommend the Armada, the clevity 92 Ti to you. Every ski rides differently for different types of skiers. If you need to get hooked up with the proper ski for you, or would like to know more about this Armada ski, please visit us on curated.com

 Coming in at about a 17 and a half meter turning radius won't be too difficult to move edge to edge. And of course, we'll be able to accomplish those shorter radius turns, longer radius turns and anything in between. If you're a skier that likes to take your time, an intermediate skier, just looking into getting into all mountain skiing, this would be a great option for you guys. Beginner skiers looking to get your first pair of all mountain skis

 It's not going to be the ski you're going to bring for a pow specific trip or like a heli skiing trip, for say, but off piste and in some slush. The 92 Ti, it really, it crushed. I thought it was a very good option for both groomers. And when we got into that little bit of fresh snow and anything hard pack, I thought this wider shovel was quite well and provided a lot of edge grip and stability

 If you're a skier that likes to take your time, an intermediate skier, just looking into getting into all mountain skiing, this would be a great option for you guys. Beginner skiers looking to get your first pair of all mountain skis. I wouldn't quite recommend the Armada, the clevity 92 Ti to you. Every ski rides differently for different types of skiers

2023 Armada Declivity 92 Ti Ski Review | Curated - YouTube

Decided to get back into skiing this year after about 15+ years without. Didn't quite know what skis to get so I found a nice pair of armada declivity 92s (180cm) on fb marketplace and decided to go for it. Been out on them a handful of times and they ski great when I push myself. For reference, I'd consider myself right about middle of intermediate, am 5'11 and 174lbs

 So in that low to mid 90s range, we're normally seeing a ski that falls into the one ski quiver category. This kind of still has that frontside mentality, sure you could use this any day for pretty much any and all applications, but the fact that it does excel at frontside carving kind of puts it back into that frontside range, but in a wider body format. So it has a lot of cool things going on that make it that way. Just with the core, we have a Poplar and Caruba wood core here, you know, nice blend of light weight and energetic feel to it

 This one just sits right in the middle as that blend, you know, that ski that blurs the line between frontside all-mountain and freeride. This one is just, you know, total chameleon, changes its shape, changes its color based on the whim of the skier. This one's the 180, produces a 17 and a half meter turn radius, again, like you'll see with a lot of these low to mid-90s skis, kind of right in the middle, good range for a wide variety of skiers. And in that light, you know, generally we'll peg this for an advanced to an expert skier

 Armada's articulated titanal banding is another heavy lifter here, so by putting the metal bands throughout the shovel into the ski, that keeps it smooth and stable, very minimal vibrations, really nice stable sound to this ski here, not a whole lot of clanging going on, just a real solid overall product. Again, that kind of makes it feel a little bit more at home on groomed terrain, even though it has the width to make it be that one ski quiver, that versatile ski for any and all conditions and terrain. As these declivities get wider, they also get increased taper and rocker profile. So we do get good positive camber underfoot, you know, bumped up from the 82 TI, but one step down from the 102, the taper does move back towards the center of the ski with this 92, and lines up really well with the start of the rocker profile

 Seeking some expert help - picking skis to buy..

I'm 5-11, 170 lbs, 46 years old, skiing for 15. Think I'm advanced intermediate. Ski about 10% double black, 50% blacks, 40% blues (with friends). Prefer moguls and trees (slowly), and bowls to groomed by far. Not a fast skier, but trying to get technically better at carving.

Live in the Midwest, and mostly ski about 2-3 trips /year in Colorado

I bought a 2020 Armada tracer 98 about 3 years ago after demoing on good powder day. It's great on the rare powder day, but don't like how it carves the other 90%, and want to sell it for a bit better carver (I usually don't get the great snow days). Had a bunch of conversations with ski shops and they all agree, say the Tracer is not a good front side ski, supposedly doesn't have enough sidecut and camber.

Most ski shops seem to recommend the Elan Ripstick 96 (regular) as the best for me (lively, forgiving, balance), but I couldn't demo it.  
Demoed Rustler 9 (felt too "wooden" \[damp\]), QST (unfortunately 85 - it was fine), and the 2022 Kore 93. (seemed fine, didn't hate anything about it).  
I want lightweight skis (I'm not strong, and I like tight technical terrain over going fast)

Has anyone tried both the Ripstick 96 and the 2022 (less stiff?) Kore 93, and have some recommendations between the two? Do you agree with the shops' recommendations? I'd prefer to buy (don't like the odds of demoing).

(Minor note - prefer the graphics of the Kore quite a bit to the Elan. I know that's theoretically not important, but hey, you all know it kinda plays a part)

5-11, 170 lbs, 46 years old, skiing for 15. Think I&#39;m advanced intermediate. Ski about 10% double black, 50% blacks, 40% blues. Prefer moguls and trees (slowly), and bowls to groomed by far. Not a fast skier, but trying to improve my carving. 
Live in the Midwest, and mostly ski about 2-3 trips /year in Colorado

I bought a 2020 Armada tracer 98 about 3 years ago after demoing on good powder day. It&#39;s great on the rare powder day, but don&#39;t like how it carves the other 90%, and want to replace it with a better carver. Ski shops all agree, say the Tracer supposedly doesn&#39;t have enough sidecut and camber.

I want lightweight skis. 
Most ski shops recommend the Elan Ripstick 96 (regular), but I couldn&#39;t demo it. 
Demoed 
Rustler 9 (felt too &quot;wooden&quot; [damp]), 
QST (unfortunately 85 - it was fine), and the 
2022 Kore 93. (seemed fine, didn&#39;t hate anything about it).

Has anyone tried both the Ripstick 96 and the 2022 (supposedly less stiff?) Kore 93, and have some recommendations between the two? 
(Minor note - prefer the graphics of the Kore quite a bit to the Elan)
