 Having said all of the above, I do feel this would be a good option for someone looking to spend the $3500 to $5,000 (and more) for a custom solution prior to making that plunge so you can get a feel for where you do and don’t want cameras, what features you do want, need, like or can live without before plunking down that kinda of cash on a system. Buy the Arlo system, experiment and then when you’re ready, replace it with a custom solution putting the used Arlo system on eBay or Craigslist or give it to a friend\family member to do the same thing you did.

Usage: We use one camera over front door area, one over driveway area and one over a fenced in pet area for almost 2 full months now. Cameras are installed outside 2nd floor windows to keep cameras from being taken and for ease of access to change out batteries. 4th camera (bought as a package on Amazon) isn’t installed and is being used to charge spare battery. It's a decent start but there's room for improvement...

  The short story... every time I turn on CVR, it works for a short time, then it will stop

 It still shows the CVR icon, but there are no videos when you go to play them back.  I feel extremely let down by Netgear. These are not cheap cameras and subscriptions and I was very tolerant of their "growing pains for years". Now I need to scrap or sell the Arlo crap and find something else more reliable

 Unfortunately, the Arlo products have been so unreliable for so long, that I have just given up.  First off, I live in Texas and none of the Netgear Outdoor Power supplies have lasted through an entire season. They appear to burn up during the hotter months. Sometimes they come back after I cycle power, but most are dead (and not returnable)

 These are not cheap cameras and subscriptions and I was very tolerant of their "growing pains for years". Now I need to scrap or sell the Arlo crap and find something else more reliable.  I have asked Netgear to cancel and refund the CVR charges. If they do, I will update this review

 I also have an Arlo Pro and and Arlo Q. These cameras work quite well and I've been very happy. The video quality is pretty good (see below); the app is easy to use; and the flexibility in scheduling different modes is great. It is also easy to share access so my wife can check in too!  As far as improvements: I was hoping that the video quality on the Arlo Pro 2 would be slightly better than it is but it suffers from compression artifacts that greatly reduce the ability to pick out fine details

 I needed this camera for 24/7 monitoring of the street because we've had issues with hit and runs on parked cars. This camera is not capable of doing that. Looks like I'll have to use a Nest Cam after all .

 This is especially annoying when it takes 1-2 seconds to start recording after motion is detected. If someone ran up to the porch and then ran away I would likely only see them fleeing. Finally, it is somewhat annoying that I have a local base station with a flash drive installed but the only way to view recordings is to still go through Arlo's servers. It is great that it records even when the internet is offline but annoying that I have to wait for a server connection to even view recent videos

 If someone were to steal a package from my front porch it would be pretty difficult to get a good facial image. Another fairly large issue is the fact that many of the new features in the Arlo Pro 2 are only available with continuous power but that is not officially available when using outdoors. This is very frustrating because that is exactly what I want to use this camera for. I'd like to have 24/7 recording of my yard and street and motion zones for my front porch but neither of those can be done without hard wired power

 BUT, the setup guide that came with the add-on cameras was correct and didn't send me into the "Checking for updates" endless loop that the app did. Second, you'll be pushing a lot of buttons to figure out what the app does and where you have to go to set things up to work the way you want. It's easy enough once you figure it out but , c'mon Arlo, it's 2019 you should have a setup walkthrough that actually does the work for you. Third, configuring modes is a joke

 Good image, easy to use once you figure out the app, and excellent motion detection even in bright light. Fix the app and I'll give it 5 stars.  Update: 9/25/2019 - It;s been 2 weeks now and I'm pretty impressed with the system. All 5 cameras are still above 85%

Want to have your cameras armed overnight? You have to schedule a dark-to-midnight time AND a midnight-to-morning time. Very 1980s

Software is the weak link

 And this was every night. If I forgot and the camera was triggered it would be too dark to see anything.  Another problem we had was sometimes the camera would trigger when people drove up our driveway, and sometimes it wouldnt. Sending this one back and should be receiving our replacement sometime today

 trying to get into our cars after he was able to go through our neighbors cars. This camera fills in the part of the house our other cameras miss. We use the mounts that screw into the back of the cameras to make it harder for someone to reach up and grab it instead of the magnet mounts that are included with the camera.  The camera does have a bit of a delay, but I believe that has more to do with my internet connection and not the camera, as we are way overdue on an internet speed upgrade to cover everything that's connected to it! I do love being able to monitor our home, even when we are out of town

I have several of these Arlo pro 2’s and they are great. I needed one more and bought through this seller. Each of these cameras come with a battery as well as an AC cable cable so that you can plug them in and save on your battery life. They also come with a wall amount

 The night vision is bright—I don’t think I’m getting the same issue as reported by other Arlo pro 2 users—but the faces do seem blurry. However, when there is some light, like from a yard lamp, I can see faces very clearly from about 10 feet away. The second is the overly sensitive motion detection even after setting sensitivity to 5%. It is happening with one camera only, so it may just be defective

 Now i have one under my sink and crawl space. Another week goes by and i still cant catch him. I noticed where he was goin with the camera and notifications that were goin off. So little by little i closed him in to smaller areas 

 I finally got my house back. I know this was a long review and im carrying on but my point of all this is that i tracked his every move, i knew when he came out,i knew everything about him and how to kill him. The cameras are amazing. The night vision is great
