so um, you know I'd personally highly recommend this jacket. I've had it um, over three months now, still looks in absolutely fantastic condition.

If Arc'teryx is your goal, think Squamish Hoody, Atom SL, Gamma SL, or even the Gamma LT Hoody, which, nowadays, is heavier than desired. A softshell or wind jacket will breath much better than a Gore-Tex option, and, in the end, keep you "warmer" as it will allow vapor transport, facilitating drier base layers. If you become chilled, this will allow you to add a more insulated piece on top of your "action suite."

For example, I use my wind jacket (Arc'teryx Squamish Hoody) in the winter because blue skies usually mean at least -15C where I live. There the wind jacket is great because it breathes much better than my rain jacket when I'm skiing, running, etc.

Wind resistant stuff is much more breathable and comfortable to wear in light drizzle or rain. I tend to only wear rain gear when it's properly raining. I wear the Arc'teryx Squamish more than any rain jacket despite being in the PNW.

9.5/10 condition. Basically like-new.

Squamish Hoody. I live in SoCal, so the Fortrez/Squamish combo covers all my day to day needs, and I only need a hard shell going skiing (Or occasional trip to wet places, in which case having a ski shell would be ok). I’d need to figure out some other insulating layer if it was really cold, but that’s an ok trade off - I’m rarely in those situations, and I do much of the skiing in some combination of those three pieces anyway.
