I think Bedo’s Leatherworks is familiar to many of you, and the shop’s stellar reputation is why I chose them to make some minor modifications to my mostly brand new Alden 403 Indy boots in brown chromexcel. The boots were gifted to me for Christmas and quickly became my favorite pair of footwear. An aesthetic issue with one of the welts turned into an opportunity for me to make some minor changes that I thought could improve (to my liking) an already great product.

For sizing reference, I’m a Brannock 10D and OSB recommends sizing half down, which was expected as I wear a 9.5D in almost every boot from the Alden Indy to the Iron Ranger. These boots were fairly easy to take on and off. The elastic sides seem very durable and the cupped heel holds my foot nicely in place; this is accompanied by a patch of roughout leather on the inner heel to prevent slippage.

Alden x Ealdewine Color 8 Shell Cordovan "The Phoenix" boot
My wedding is coming up in April and had my suit surprise paid for, so I decided to look for some new wedding boots! Being that I had a nice sum of money to use I started looking at Alden's. Really like the Alden Indy boot but wasn't sure how it would look under a suit pant.

CPO Alden Indy review
Specifically, these are Alden x JCrew Indy boots in Brown Chromexecel. Overalls they are nice, solid , comfortable boots. You can really notice the steel shank in them as you walk and stand in them all day, the faux moc toe is iconic, and heel toplif is actually quite soft (Footbalance), and the Neocork cork/rubber sole is great.
