If you want a simple first aid kit for everyday needs that might arise, our recommendation is to keep the handy Adventure Medical Kits Ultralight/Watertight .7 in your pack. We carry it with us when heading outdoors for the day to cover anything that arises should we need it, knowing that it doesn't overload us when we don't. It includes valuable pieces in an easy-to-carry container. We also like that it is waterproof and seemed well-built.
This kit is made for fast and light travel and doesn't include a few typical first aid staples like trauma shears, ankle tape &#40;the included tape is too thin&#41;, and a CPR mask. Our testers added those items after the fact to create a more well-rounded &#40;but still lightweight&#41; kit. Additionally, the low quantities mean that you do have to refill its supplies regularly. These caveats limited the usefulness of the Ultralight/Watertight .7 to day trips where you won't be straying too far from the trailhead. This kit will support any of your simple first aid situations, but you will want to pack something more substantial for long-distance trips into the wilderness.

 All I got was a pair of gloves and a trauma pad.  Bag 2 was missing most of what was listed. I'm going to list the items that were supposed to be in bag #2 and the number, and then what was actually there. They did include two packages of acetaminophen, which hadn't been listed at all

 It wasn't able to seal airtight when it arrived and it pulled the zipper from the plastic on first use. Also, the silnylon bag is just a little too small for the plastic bags. For the .9 size it would have been much easier to pack if the outer bag was big enough to hold the plastic bags without folding the top down

I'd return them if I thought that their replacements would be more up-to-date; but since both of them had the same early expiration date, the probability of getting newer replacements with a later expiration is not good. I'll replace the soon-to-expire components and live with the rest; but I am disappointed.

Note that this is what I consider to be a comfort-type medical kit, not a hard-core first-aid kit. It's also not for tactical use. There's no huge bandage for large, bloody wounds, there's no splints, burn gel or tourniquet

This will allow you deal with cuts and scrapes and various travel discomfort, more like a well-stocked medicine cabinet at home. There's nothing wrong with this, it's just the limitations of size in a kit like this
