Acer Chromebook 314

I have an Acer Chromebook (CB3-532 Series?) and I’ve run into a couple of major problems that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I use this laptop for digital work, and I have linux turned on. After a while of using Linux, it almost always ends up with something seriously wrong happen.

(The latter is a new development, in one recent Acer model; before that, Chromebook displays topped out at 15.6 inches.)

I constantly need to use it on AC power. The Chromebook on the other hand, still have a long battery life. A year ago, we had a new Asus laptop (Windows also) but after a year, the battery life also drastically deteriorated quickly.

Unfortunately, it has started to frequently crash and I have to shut it down restart it. Sometimes I have to wait 10-20 mins before it will restart. So I'm going to have to send the Acer 314 back to the store for repair, and buy another laptop in the meantime. I don't know why my recent Chromebooks keep crashing.

I tested an Acer, and the screen was OK (not great). The Samsung screen may be much better. However, I read that ChromeOS does not support scaling, and I would have to reduce the screen resolution to make things larger. So perhaps a 1920x1200 resolution is not the way to go with a 12.2-inch Chromebook?
