Not long enough to jump larger cars end-to-end

 Buy the Coleman cables instead, they look safer even if the functionality of the end on those cables is also in question based on their reviews. This matter seemed important enough to post pictures, so check them out.  For myself, I looked in a bunch of places and found that the only place I could find copper wires (not copper-plated aluminum) and decent clamps was at Sears, so I'm headed over there now to buy two sets. I wanted one, but I think I'll put another in the tool shed for the future when they no longer make good ones available anywhere

 If cost is more important than a higher-quality tool, go for the Colemans above.)  2 stars instead of 1 because you could in fact probably jumpstart using these cables. If the tips were safe, they'd get 3, maybe 4.

Dangerous and not as advertised

Most boosters are 10 gauge, which don't carry enough current to boost most vehicles. The largest around are 4 gauge. At six, these are ideal for most cars. It won't start a Caterpillar Dump truck, but for my personal vehicle? You bet

  Edit 7/17/13:  Summary: Great cables, funny pronged tip, threw away the bag years ago...  The cables are long and heavy duty

  The case is handy, but seems a bit thin and not sure if we'll be able to get the cables back in without tearing the fabric or zipper after actual use.

 The half open-mesh bag might actually be better than an entirely polyester ripstop-type bag if you have to use cables in the rain/snow, as the mesh will allow better evaporation of moisture.

Nice, heavy and well made booster cable!!

 One negative was the plastic carrying case, flimsy quality that feels to small to hold the cables or too difficult to "fold" the cables to fit into the case without tearing it, I threw it away.

Fits the bill

 The font is so small, like maybe size 4 or less. Clearly a case of AAA not doing quality control on their Chinese supplier. If you are going to put your brand on a product, then make sure people can read the instructions. Can't imagine the frustration someone will encounter if they are not familiar with cables and try to read micro instructions in the dark, rain or snow

 I thought this would be a good purchase for those size automobiles. The cables are indeed heavy-duty and the clamps are beefy with good, tight gripping power. The carry pouch is a nice feature to keep the cables from getting tangled or from just laying loose in a trunk. I like the fact that the bag has an open, mesh side to allow the cables to dry should they get wet
