Sometimes you just need a little more umph. If your device requires more charging power, the Syncwire PD 30W USB-C is a brick to consider. At 2.46 oz., this single-port charger is one of the most advanced, 30-watt, compact, USB-C chargers on the market, which is why it's our favorite. It has the brawn to support all fast-charging protocols for Android or Apple products. It's also relatively affordable. It supplies enough current to charge a MacBook Air, and it can handle most tablets on the market. It supplied 26.5 watts to our Super Fast Charging Samsung S22 Ultra, an easily provided enough power to efficiently charge a Google Pixel 6, and a Samsung Tab S8 Ultra Tablet. For die-hard gamers, it can also power a Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch in a pinch. The Syncwire PD 30W uses gallium nitride &#40;GaN&#41; semiconductor technology, which allows it to stay much cooler while charging. Gallium Nitride technology also distributes electricity more efficiently, which is energy-saving and a little more eco-friendly. Our favorite feature is quite simple: A large 30W stencil is plastered right on the front, so there's no guessing or reading fine print to determine its overall output capabilities. 
The Syncwire PD 30W would be better if it had folding plugs. Its  measurements equal a 2-inch cube, so the additional fixed plugs make it a little larger than ideal. The GaN technology allows components to be packed tighter, making this charger larger, noticeably denser, and heavier than its peers. That said, it sports some of the best charging technology available, and it really packs a punch, which offsets its minor inconveniences. If the Syncwire suits you needs, it's wise to invest in a USB or Lightning cable that can accommodate 30 watts or more. Typical convenience store cables near the check-out counter probably won't match the performance levels the Syncwire can provide.

We think the Anker PowerPort Elite 2 is the perfect option for anyone looking for a solid charger and who doesn't want to spend a whole lot for it. This charger is about average in size and weight for a dual-port charger, complete with foldable plugs. It has a pair of USB-A plugs that are each capable of sourcing up to 2.4 amps &#40;12 watts each&#41;. It has a fairly sleek design and a wide blue LED indicator light at the top so you know if it's properly plugged in. 
However, while this USB wall charger does have a respectable maximum power output, it isn't Qualcomm Quick-Charge compatible, so it won't be able to charge certain devices &mdash; typically Samsung phones &mdash; as fast as the other models we have tested. It also can block some of the adjacent outlets, depending on how you plug it in. Regardless, it's a great bargain option &mdash; especially since it can charge two things at once &mdash; and we highly recommend it for anyone shopping on a budget for a new phone charger.

The Best USB Phone Charger

If there's a UGreen Nexode 100W USB-C in the house, it can only mean one thing: a charging party. This half-pound brick has a long list of credentials that makes it powerful and compatible enough to charge nearly any modern device that needs a spark. Individually, its four ports provide an impressive amount of power. The top two USB-C ports max out at 100 watts, while its third USB-C port provides up to 22.5 watts. Lastly, its fourth port is a USB-A port, which has a maximum output of 22.5 watts. We tested each port individually with a USB multimeter, and found plenty of power to charge our MacBook pro M1, MacBook Air, Samsung S22 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro, Google Pixel 6, Samsung Tab S8 Tablet, and Nintendo Switch. When completely loaded with four devices, the UGreen Nexode 100W's power capacity drops to 45 watts, 30 watts, 10.5 watts, 10.5 watts &#40;ports C1, C2, C3 and A4, respectively&#41;. This decrease does limit the ability to charge several high-power devices simultaneously, but it still leads the industry and is substantial enough to quickly charge multiple phones, tablets, headsets, and more. Additionally, it is compatible with all of the latest charging protocols, which allows the charger to communicate with each device in order to better supply it with the proper amount of fast-charging current. It also employs gallium nitride &#40;GaN&#41; semiconductor technology which distributes electricity more effectively, keeps the charger cooler, and allows it to be more compact. The UGreen measurers 2.72" x 2.72" x 1.3", making it one of the more compact four-port chargers on the market &mdash; and literally one of the coolest. Even when completely loaded with four devices, our charger maintained a temperature of 95-98 degrees F. 
Sorry to crash the charging party, but there are a few things we didn't like. The UGreen Nexode 100W can sometimes be a little finicky with high-end Samsung phones that support 45-watt, Super Fast Charging. A sliver of phones, like the Samsung S22 Ultra, can accept this amount of power during charging. However, despite 100 watts of power, we could only source 22-25 watts, which is only comparable to Samsung's Standard 25-watt, Super Fast Charging. Additionally, the UGreen has a very specific process for charging Apple Watches. The watch must be charged through the USB-A port, and only one other device can be charging at the same time. The latest GaN technology allows internal components to be crammed closer together. This makes GaN chargers much more compact, but the trade off is increased density and weight. At more than a half-pound, this charger doesn't sit in the outlet as well as it should. It can sit a little loose or unstable when under the added weight of multiple USB cables. This can be problematic if its accidently bumped. However, we still loved the UGreen enough to give it our highest award. It's powerful and can charge a wide variety of devices and accessories at the same time. Before making your purchase, we recommend scrolling the manufacturer's product page to study this charger's multiple power configurations. We also highly recommend a high-capacity USB or Lightning cable if you plan to charge larger devices.
