So you can see it's got about the same thickness at the tip, so a nice taper out there open back and on both of these, and it will close these up and you can see the footprint there so still pretty thin, not quite as soon as the It coochie, but very slim and pocketable there and the overall thickness we'll take a look at all these together and I'm also gon na grab the Spyderco Endura here just for relative size as well, and just a little bit better shot of the group there. The low profile deep carry clip is very discreet and secure. If you have a thicker welt on your pocket, it may take a bit of a two-part deployment, but on a standard size thickness such as this cargo pocket

 You can see the in-house design marking on the back at the blade here: milled, titanium frame, lock, side, nice, deep, carry clip and it's actually extra deep, carry very low profile, and you got a hardened steel lock face insert in there. It does have over travel prevention as well, and that is facilitated by this custom style, pivot and inside.  For a quick run down on the specifications, we've got an overall length of 8.4 inches a blade length of 3.6 inches with a 3.5 6-inch cutting edge

So you are gon na get a greater level of wear resistance and a high level of corrosion resistance on this blade. The handle materials have been upgraded to g10, so you're gon na get a much more durable material. There'S a warmer in hand feel and there's also a significant amount of texturing on the knife

Benchmade 580-2 CPM S30V Barrage Overview

I bought this knife as an every day carry / work knife understanding that I probably would not put it through the same trials as my last knife, which I still carry in my bunker coat.

Excellent Everyday Carry

This is great medium weight knife. Benchmade sells a lot lighter, and there are a lot heavier knives. I wouldn't use this knife to live in the forest but I wouldn't go there without it. Its a great middle ground of weight and size

 I bought the knife to use at my work in a commercial kitchen to open receiving shipments and blade will stand up to cardboard all day long. It has a good grip I just with there was some sort of rubberizing on the finger holds but anything they would put on would flake off so most likely that is for best.

Great balance of all things

 The blade stays sharp and is relatively easy to sharpen. The only downside, if it is a downside, is the fact that the Axis locking mechanism tends to collect dust and grime, but with a Q Tip, it's easy to clean. Overall, very satisfied with this knife. American made is the way to go

 The blade is made of exceptional quality steel and the handle is of equal quality. I have beaten the hell out of this knife and the paint on the pocket clip is the only visible sign of age. The blade stays sharp and is relatively easy to sharpen. The only downside, if it is a downside, is the fact that the Axis locking mechanism tends to collect dust and grime, but with a Q Tip, it's easy to clean

 Overall, very satisfied with this knife. American made is the way to go. If you are buying a knife and want a quality larger sized folder that is durable as hell, buy the Barrage. And the reviewer whose locking mechanism failed to function correctly must've received a lemon, because there is no way a Benchmade would fail like that
