Yamaha P45 vs Yamaha P-515

This is a good keyboard for its price. Its value proposition is that it's portable, light enough to lug around to gigs, and decent-sounding enough to just plug in and perform with. It's simple to operate, does what you'd expect it to, and the weighted action is great. I have few reservations about this keyboard as a gigging keyboard

You won't find a top end Yamaha action in any of the P series portables, because they are priced at a specific target and they have to be portable. About the best action you can get is the NWX in the P-515, which is what you'll find in a mid range CLP of today, but it is not Yamaha's flagship action, and I am sure they had to keep weight in mind when designing it. It's pretty clear from my breakdown of the actions that you are pretty much getting an old action on the P 115/125. Even with the YDP's and CLP's these days, the action you get is determined by price

In your budget, I would just try it out at the person's house and see if it's in good working order.

The holosun 515 is a really good bang for your buck. In a lot of ways it matches the aim point while also having the option for both single dot and circle dot reticles. Don’t get the one with the solar panel tho, its kinda gimmicky and not worth the extra money. Honestly the main advantages of the eotech are only apparent when using night vision

The piano is basic. It looks basic, feels basic, and if you want no thrills whatsoever then this is the piano for you. The keys have a nice action, the pedal not so much. It's hard to tell if you even have it pressed by feel alone

With my P-515 I also use and appreciate the comfort of my (aftermarket) 'bungee chair' (without armrests) from The Container Store (or Amazon.com). The 'bungee chair' is super comfortable (light weight, with back rest and very easy to assemble) and is another excellent aftermarket addition that I appreciate using regularly with my P-515. The Yamaha P-515 is NOT a cheap 'toys-are-us' piano and I can highly recommend it for piano players as a (semi)-portable
