 So if you're going into an interface, you can take the pure Pro quality audio output as well. And a really nice little feature that the P12 Five has is what's called a tabletop EQ setting. Now what it does is it basically automatically detects when it's been put on a tabletop and there are speakers underneath you see. And if it's on a tabletop, it can't really get the most out of those speakers, so it has a special setting it goes to that brings more of the bass out the top and gives you a more natural sound because not everyone uses a stand

 Crucial things to know about Digital Piano if you haven't seen one before, is they never, ever go out of tune. And that is crucial as you'll never have to do anything to maintenance wise to keep it in true. Also, the controls here are very simple. Digital pianos allow you to be able to turn the volume down and practice in relative quiet

 It's 88 keys. Why? That's the same amount of Keys as a traditional grand piano. And crucially, they have what we call weighted key mechanism in there.  My review today is going to be very simple, very practical because as a musician who has been playing professionally for a long time, I'm pretty clear about what I like and what I don't like about the keyboard instead I use and also to give you some context I absolutely do use other keyboards for other applications like if I need something that has a huge library of sounds, the ability to create song presets and keyboard splits and layers and effects and all that stuff I have other keyboards that I use that for. however very often I just am playing in a gig where I need a good piano. so on my gigs where I just need a good solid 88 keys with some good weighted piano action with some really good, basic, useful, good sounding tones I can access quickly, something that looks good, something that's light to carry around and that is pretty inexpensive as keyboards go. I Love this Yamaha P 125 By the way, if you are interested in looking at one of these for yourselves or shopping for one right in my description I have a link right to this keyboard so you can go check it out for yourself I Have to say I When I first came across this keyboard, it was watching somebody else play one a fellow keyboard player and I saw him play it I saw him carrying on the stage and I saw this little light little thing he was carrying under his shoulder I thought oh, that's one of those cheap pianos, that's what I thought and there was just my prejudgment upon seeing it

 I even have a real piano at home that I could play and I still prefer to play this one for just playing and practicing at home. [Music] you so when I'm playing this at home or on a gig I Really just want a few decent tones that I can access and this has it right there. So let me show you. so when you turn on the keyboard, it's gonna default right to this piano sound right here

Yamaha P125 Review | Which Digital Piano Should I Buy?

 So that's also really great. I hope you've enjoyed the review. We'Ve done some comparisons as well between the P 125 and the Roland FP 32

 So this is, you know, that's the string, but he's got that meow going not nearly as functional as that. First patch, you've got sort of a choir thing happening, just a pad kind of a sign pad and then, if you've got a bass thing happening. [, Music, ], [, Music, ] yeah, so that's a kind of a roundup of what we're getting in terms of the selection of tone. On the P 125, I like the fact that we've got speakers that are facing up and back so you're getting a lot of clarity and somebody else who's in close proximity

 You go nice vibes, strings, [, Music ]! You know, that's actually a very usable string patch. This is gon na go off in a bit of a sidebar here, but string patches on digital pianos are really hard to find something that works. Well, I'm not even talking about the realism of the sound of the string itself because that's very difficult to nail unless you're dealing with a with a huge, you know sample bank, where you actually have individual samples being played simultaneously. You know individual violin, individual cello and it's all layered up and to produce that kind of texture that you get with a real string ensemble

 The e piano sounds on here: [, Music, ], [, Laughter, ], [, Music ]. You know, I have to say ID. We just recently reviewed the p51 five. I like the EPM 7125, actually even better than what they've got on the on the 5:15

[, Music, ], hey guys Jacob Duprey here, I'm at Sweetwater and I'm sitting down with the Yamaha P 125. As of right now, 2018. It is Yamahas newest addition to the P series of portable digital pianos, its predecessor. The 115 is a very popular instrument still, but in my opinion, the 125 is an improvement on that model

 I can do it again right here. If I want to there, we go, and now I just edited my chord chart and of course I can play along with it - [ Music ] yeah, so I can practice alone with that track all day say I want to change the key I want to transpose It I want to make it go faster or slower. I can do that too. So, here I'll speed up the tempo a little bit: [, Music, ], yeah and change the key like so [, Music ]

 In my opinion, the speaker's themselves are an improvement in the 125 as well. I think that comes from the approved tweeter, which is something they have. The tweeter is, of course, which produces higher, sounds and a speaker, and I find from owning a P 95, which is actually discontinued and also playing on the P 115 that these speakers are definitely an improvement. So obviously you can control all the settings within the 125

 [, Music, ], [ Applause, ], [, Music, ], the Yamaha P 125 - has four layers of CF sampling opposed to three in the 115. So what this means is whenever they take a grand piano and they sample it for digital piano like this, they can take so many gradients between soft and loud, so pianist mo to fortissimo. This has four layers, four levels rather than three. So what that means is you get more gradients between loud and soft, allowing you to be more expressive? It'S gon na get you closer to playing on an acoustic instrument

 The tweeter is, of course, which produces higher, sounds and a speaker, and I find from owning a P 95, which is actually discontinued and also playing on the P 115 that these speakers are definitely an improvement. So obviously you can control all the settings within the 125. With the buttons here on the top, so like metronome the drum tracks, you can record yourself there's a two-track recorder. You can change between different sounds different voices, but the coolest thing in my opinion about the 125
