 I really love how the Yamaha sounds with the KLHs, with one specific adjustment - relying on the loudness dial to really give some low and high end definition without the brightness of the mids causing ear fatigue. Sometimes I stick with the pure direct button for certain vinyl, but by and large the loudness dial is a particularly great feature for those of us who aren't really able to treat a room, especially since I'm in a very bright (sonically and literally) ranchette living room featuring huge ceiling windows and an entire wall of patio glass.

Pictured in my living room is the Yamaha A-S801, Fluance RT82 (with upgraded om20), KLH Model 5’s, a Philips DVD963SA SACD player, and a Mac Mini running Plex connected to the Yamaha via usb. I also stream Tidal & Spotify to a BluMe HD Bluetooth receiver connected via toslink. I really love how the Yamaha sounds with the KLHs, with one specific adjustment - relying on the loudness dial to really give some low and high end definition without the brightness of the mids causing ear fatigue. Finally got my vintage looking system all set up in my "new" 1955 home.

 I run the sound from my Bluray to it through the digital coax cable and let the DAC in the amplifier do its thing and, wow, is it clear! This is a solid piece of equipment that I will probably use the rest of my life.  The remote control is simple and operates well. There are some gizmos on it for other Yamaha products that I will probably never own but they are easy to ignore. The items that pertain to the amplifier are well marked and easy to understand

 There is ample power for most home systems and there are connections for way more stuff than I have. I love its sound and flexibility and am extremely happy with it.

 The sound is clean, crisp, the bass is tight. It is simple--just the basic controls--yet is has inputs for just about anything you could want. I run it with a pair of Paradigm speakers (not the top of the line but they are good).  The phono preamp seems silent and not prone to coloration

  Still, the things I miss seem to have faded into the past. This amp does its job smoothly and effortlessly. There is ample power for most home systems and there are connections for way more stuff than I have. I love its sound and flexibility and am extremely happy with it

Beautiful and Simple--Perhaps Too Simple

. But the Yamaha mid range and low end are probably more to my taste. Really full sound.

. The specs show 45hz as the low end for both but the UB51 extends more at least in this room. I've pulled them out a fair bit from the wall but the response starting 40hz is really strong whereas on the DBR62 it rolls off a lot more by comparison below 65hz.

 Gives that hifi sound... But the Yamaha mid range and low end are probably more to my taste

Imprwssions on the amps... The Emotiva is definitely treble forward with better definition on the highs

 As long as you keep that crossover frequency of your sub away from that hundred Hertz area, you won't have that problem of cascading filters and getting a bad ripple rent at the crossover point. Okay, okay, so you know it's! It'S well thought out. Let'S put it that way, I'm really happy about this product, yeah huge congratulations to the Yamaha team.  If you put it on the low setting the forum setting you're, defeating the purpose of why you bought this amp to begin with, you're crippling the amp. That'S it bottom line. You'Re! Crippling the amp, it's like having your it's like having your most powerful horse at the Kentucky Derby and you just put them away or taking a sports car and leaving in Eco mode. So you can save one mile per gallon

 I mean this is the same kind of construction. You get they're brand new CX 5100 AV pre pro mm-hmm, so it's their digital front-end is top-notch man. This is a super high-end DAC. It does sa CD in its native format the DSD all the way up to the 5 megahertz range

The 2 heat dissipating plates and heavy quality build let you know it is time to let the power flow for hours.

CD Direct and Pure Direct are very valuable features giving clean and low noise sound.

I needed to replace my 30 year old Yamaha amp that had 115W per channel. It was very hard to find anything at 100W per channel or better without a major price tag.  I’m no audiophile but I prefer a warmish sound with a more up-front Bass than the Denon was able to provide. I’m not talking heavy Bass here, I listen to mostly alt-folk and acoustic. I tried it with a variety of artists Including Vampre Weekend, Rising Appalachia, billie Eilish, Two-feet, Emancipator, Emerso Lake and Palmer, and some world music (Anour Brahemm Ablaye Sissoko and more). The Denon failed to reflect the Bass produced by other amps

 If you like crisp, clear instrument separation and prefer the Bass to be pushed back then there is something you will probably find good in the Denon at this price point, but if you like a warmer more up-front sound with a richly toned Bass then you may be sadly disappointed with this amp.

Don’t get me wrong, the Denon provides a feature filled package, including digital inputs, bluetooth and the ability to bypass the digital circuitry for a true analog sound. At the price it delivers clear and somewhat crisp rendition of digital sound with reasonable width and separation of the instruments. Where it let me down was in the soundstage depth. It’s flatish and lacking a presence, with no sound pushing forward into the room

 It was apparently under powered to drive the Bass section of my old Mission 753 towers. Other amps in the price range like the NAD C316BEE v2 had no problem pushing out the Bass. If you like crisp, clear instrument separation and prefer the Bass to be pushed back then there is something you will probably find good in the Denon at this price point, but if you like a warmer more up-front sound with a richly toned Bass then you may be sadly disappointed with this amp.

Lacking the Bass

My problem is that I was using a Denon PMA-600NE amplifer to drive them (outputs 70W per channel at 4 ohms, can output to speakers between 4 and 16 ohms) - it was wayyy too loud. Like, with the volume knob starting at 7 o'clock, by 8 o'clock it was comfortable listening volume. 9 o'clock was far too loud. The main issue with this was that before 9 o'clock on the dial, there was some serious channel imabalance

Hello, I’ve been thinking to get a powered speaker that goes around 400$-600$ per speaker im planning to get a pair.  Is the ev zlx 15p a good speaker to get a pair of it (2 speakers) 

Mainly i will be using the speakers for djing outdoors and indoors and playing (house music or electronic music/ french house music). I want a 15 inch speaker with good             quality/clearance  ,  if theres any recommendations other than the ev zlx 15p  that would be great


Another question is : 
Should i get one speaker from one model, and buy another speaker to pair it with it? Or should i buy just a pair of speaker of the same model.

I'm totally blind and going for my first real hi-fi setup i’m based in the UK with a budget of about £1000 but I’m prepared to go slightly over that. I have decided the amp will be the quad audio venna 2 play as it is compact tactile and has a good amount of connections. What I'm not sure about is the speaker choice ideally the whole set up will fit on one table both amp and speakers. For my speaker choice I'm thinking the Dali Oberon 1, I would like something with good bass response as I'm listening to a lot of electronic music. I'm also considering the triangle bro3. What would you recommend in terms of the speaker choice? Your help with this would be most welcome. Thanks very much everyone.

I'm fairly new to audio and I'm having trouble deciding between these two 5" speakers (Mackie MR524 and Fluance AI40) and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with both and can point me in the right direction. I know the Fluance has the edge when it comes to functionality like bluetooth but I'm wondering if that's matched by a sound edge for the Mackies?

I will mostly be using them for near field, low to medium volumes- but my desk is in the main living area and it would be nice to crank them a bit and hit the entire kitchen/living room with music while I cook/chill with the GF. It's a fairly small one bedroom basement suite and there are no walls separating the kitchen, living room, and my desk. Is a 5" powered setup enough juice for that?

My setup is a glass dinner table being used as a desk, will be feeding and controlling with a Schiit Fulla 3.

 I am purchasing a PS Audio Sprout 100. It's specs say that with 8ohm loudspeakers- it can power 50 watts per channel. And with 4ohm loudspeakers it can channel 100 watts per channel.

I'm also looking at the Klipsch RP-600M bookshelf speakers. It's specs say it can handle 100W (cont) and 400W (peak). I think they are saying each speaker can handle this power.

So my question. If I have two 8ohm speakers- do I go by the 4ohm amp rating or the 8ohm? Am I perfectly matching the 100w per channel at 4ohm to each speaker that can handle 100w continuous?
