Honestly, I can’t claim that I have noticed any huge changes in the air quality of my room and I still have to open a window sometimes to get the stuffiness out. The carbon filter on the 5500-2 isn't worth it and if you want a carbon filter get a can filter and an ac infinity inline fan. There might be better options at the same price point though.
