Weber is always my go to, great customer service, and those are the best (only) electric options.

Guys and gals, I'm moving to an apartment where I can only have an electric grill.  Such a bummer.  I need a small grill that is electric, and I need some suggestions.  It's gunna be a big change from the big weber I had, and smoker, but can't give up cooking.  Quality, and small size, enough for a couple of people, just need some suggestions!  Thanks everyone.

Need help moving to apartment, need electric grill.

 I also have a Weber Q portable gas grill. Just as portable, but 10x easier. If there is a place to dump charcoal, you're golden. But even beyond that, I'd pick the Q for camping/picnicking/tailgating

Any one have experience/ thoughts on these grills. On either version, I was thinking on getting one for the times were I only cook small portions or for a beach day here in soCal. 
How do they hold up? Would you recommend ?

Weber go anywhere thoughts

  The grill is fine so far but I am unable to connect the propane tank because there is not enough space between the grill handle and the connector for the cylinder.  I have to get my husband to do it because he uses 2 hands to push the bracket down so the threaded units match up to secure the cylinder.  Very poor design and if my husband is not here to help me I can't start the grill.

We just purchased a new Weber Q1200 gas grill.  We had an older model which was great but I wanted a new one with the temperature gauge.  They came out perfectly! I used tongs to turn them over one time and kept the lid closed to maintain the heat. Excellent results! The steaks were cooked to perfection with great-looking grill marks, and there was no "gas" taste to the food; something I hated about our previous grill.  Cleaning up the grill was as with most. The disposable drip pan caught all the drips and the grill plates were coated and needed some soaking before I used a kitchen scrubber (plastic teeth) to clean off the oily residue from cooking the meat

After some effort, the grill plates were clean and replaced into the grill for the next use.  NOTE: Disposable drip pans can be used or you can wrap the holder in foil to catch drips

 Other than the ignition switch, putting it together went smoothly.  The initial grill use went as expected. I attached a large tank with a propane adapter hose (not included) that I'd used with my other grill. I made sure I had a full tank and followed the directions for the first use

 I didn't want to break it, so I contacted Weber about this issue and they sent me directions for how to install an ignition switch (the whole thing...) and the button

 These directions were NOT in the Grill Owner's Guide, which they should be! The directions that were sent in an email after contacting Weber weren't great, but I did see what I needed to check. There are two retaining clips that should click when you put the button in, locking it into place. Other than the ignition switch, putting it together went smoothly.  The initial grill use went as expected

 So far, it has been amazing. I have a larger smoker at the house but sometimes laziness sets in and you want a quick, easy setup to cook smaller portions of food. Very simple setup either with the stand or setting up on the patio deck. Heats up very quickly and clean up is just as easy as setting it up

 You can pick the grill up and move it around with the bottle, which is really nice. After you're done grilling, you want to make sure the grill is totally cool, because you don't want to put your plastic table on a hot grill. Of course it's plastic, it'll melt. So always make sure it's nice and cooled off

 But here's something really nice, guys. The bottle's on there, if I want to move the grill, it's not hanging off by some flimsy little thing. After you're done grilling, you want to make sure the grill is totally cool, because you don't want to put your plastic table on a hot grill

 Today we're going to be reviewing the Weber Q1200 Portable Grill.

 Being from Weber, of course, it's got awesome features.

 They packed a lot of big grill features into this little grill.

 I had to buy that extra, but I figured, you know what, it's such a nice grill.

 First thing you're going to notice is the cool color.

 Second thing I really like is this thermometer, and it's really accurate.

 It's really nice having a thermometer right there all the time.

 All the handles are really nice and big.

 It's got porcelain enameled cast iron grates.

 I still use a little bit of spray on coconut oil, but a lot of that's for the flavor.

 And what's really nice is everything kind of fits inside of it.
