* As close to 55\*40\*23 cm as possible since this is intended as a carry on one bag travel bag. I usually bring a lot of crap, so it has to be quite big, but still be possible to carry on. * Preferably load lifters (I have a Wandrd Prvke 31 liters which I've been traveling with, and load lifters would've been great to have). * At least one pocket for a water bottle (preferably one that is easy accessible from the outside of the bag, but if there is an internal pocket that might suffice as well)

Just be sure the camping gear is stuff you would be comfortable using. You might try the WANDRD PRVKE 41L or shimoda pack or a https://www.wandrd.com/products/fernweh (However at 50L there is a risk of having to check it)

Pretty much, I'm trying to pack for RTW travel that would include both hiking, remotely working with laptop, and fitting in a carry-on; and I don't know how to look for advice from people that have done the same.

<li>my these 40+10L still don&#39;t account for  outside stretchy pockets , where I coul stuff things outside the airport as well. One big pocket could certainly fit a tent, a puffy jacket and a medkit</li>
<li>my tent is frameless, uses 1 trekking pole. I do expect this to be the largest butt-hurt and will either send that pole + stakes separately or will get new ones. Either way, I expect to move on land much more than by plane.</li>

I recently gave the Wandrd Prvke a trail run because I had heard good things, I hated it. My main turnoff of the Prvke is the roll top. I just can't do it. The comfort just isn't it either

The lower half of the shoulder straps is dedicated to rails for the sliding sternum strap—our favorite kind because of how granular the adjustment is. It’s a shame our sample didn’t come with one, though the 21-liter daypack volume of this version doesn’t necessitate one. There are also loops for attaching a waist strap, but again, they’re really not a must-have at this capacity. Despite the difference in sizing, it’s nice to know that the larger cube can get the job done if you prefer the Deep but have the 21L backpack

There are two ways to access the main compartment; via the rolltop or through the clamshell opening. As a rolltop, the PRVKE 21L’s volume is expandable; thus, the beefy G-hook is length-adjustable, and there are two sets of hook-side velcros on the front side where the strips of loop-side velcros at the back can attach to. This is fine for quick but partial access to the main compartment. For full access, though, clamshell access is the way to go

 It'S even for anything in that you don't want get scratched the phone. It'S also really safe for persecutes on your back, so no one can reach in unzip it and get your valuables looking at the front of the backpack. Obviously the first pocket. We have the nice organizer pocket for all different compartments here, so you can store little bits and bobs your pen, the phone

 So let's take a closer look. Okay, so this forty liter backpack is brilliant for light travel. If you look on the front here, it's got a wonderful feature when we see the North Face logo, this lips lifts up and there's a hidden compartment here. Obviously, waterproofs you can put anything you want to keep nice and safe in there, but this lip cozy poses magnetically, so it just closes the way like that, which is great

 Here it's got the drain mesh holes, which means any water can come out of the pocket on the side. Here, we've got a grab, handle obviously great for carrying the bag like this, and at the top there is a padded and meshed grab handle. Now this means that your hands will be nice and comfortable also keeps any perspiration off your hand. Looking at the back of the rucksack, we've obviously got adjustable shoulder straps

 In the old version, the computer compartment is well padded and there is a velcro strap on the top of the computer slot that keeps the computer in place as it goes thru security screen and prevents it from sliding out. This strap has saved my computer many times. In the newer version Northface has removed it. WHY Northface? Why?! In addition in the old version there was a well padded tablet slot with a strap in the same compartment

How Can a Great Product Get Worse on an upgrade?

 One of the main considerations with this pack is the organization of your technologies. First and foremost, they've given you a computer pouch that is fleece lined and can accommodate up to a 15 inch laptop. This frontmost compartment of the bag offers you plenty of organizational pocket options, including a fleece lined tablet pocket a fleece lined Mp3 or phone pocket, and a zippered pocket for your valuables. The bag also has a large capacity main compartment, which can even be enlarged using the expansion zipper here on the side

 This is a legitimate harnessing system, complete with a winged hip belt mesh padded shoulder straps with load lifters at the top and a sliding sternum strap. The whole harnessing system can also be stowed away, however, leaving it with more of a briefcase style travel bag, complete with this side carry handle. Once you have the bag in its briefcase mode, it has this trusty pass through behind the back panel here, making it easy to slide it over the handle of a roller bag. And last but not least, it has the zippered pocket at the bottom, which is great for a damp raincoat or maybe a dirty pair of shoes, and these two elastic pouches on the side which are great for water bottles

 We're actually gonna be looking at a bag that we saw while walking around Rei. This is the North Face Overhaul 40 pack. The first thing you notice is the size of the bag. You can tell that it's got plenty of space

 And there's an additional pocket right here, a zipper pocket for easy access to something that you want to keep a little more hidden from the outside. The front has another pocket up here, again easy to use. It has a fleece interior along with that small back pocket so that it's safe for your phone, sunglasses. Although you can't compress it on the sides, it does seem to have a lot of different compartments for you to carry your stock.  It has a chest strap up here as well which is really nice to have. It has this flex this flex mint here which is really cool because it lets air go up up your back when you're walking. It's really nice. I does have water resistant material

 It's designed for people who live out of their backpack like I do. So you see here. The first thing is right here. There's this little kind of discreet little zipper area on the front right so you open that up that actually has a felt part on the inside

 The rest as you can see is just a big old pouch and this holds your laptop that I put my laptop, my cables I put all kinds of stuff in here so it's pretty pretty awesome pouch to have now. On top of that, as you can see, we have your perfect little cup holder things for your water bottle. it'll hold all kinds of I mean hold your basic size water bottle you know I have my I have my My Life straw filter that I did another video on before that fits perfectly in here and then after that I want to show you this cool feature here I Love this! this is I think this is might be my favorite feature this bag I haven't seen that another one I'm sure there there are other bags with them but a lot of people love Osprey which is perfectly fine. It's just my preference, but on the bottom of the bag here you'll see that there is another zipper and this is one of the coolest features

 But if you're kind of a newbie, then you need to know that whenever you fly on an airline, you can only bring up to 45 litres worth of space in one Of your bags. So this baby right here. this holds 40 litres. Now that is the perfect size for carry-on Now your average backpack like the one that I used to travel with, it holds 25 litres

 I like the little compartment on the inside that goes against your back, I put my wallet in there and phone. I hope that I will be able to update this review in 10 years and report that this pack is still going strong. I got the "red" color and it's nice and neutral, I would like to see more options other then black, blue and, red, but it isn't a deal breaker. It's comfortable to wear and the shoulder straps feel nice and solid when I am carrying it

 And then from my experience with from my limited experience with European airlines, just the ones I flew on the carries that I mentioned was 21 and a half so this still was good. Okay so we have this back compartment back here. very nice and big. Can put your laptop succour

 The whole dimension of this backpack is 21 by 12 by 7, which is definitely a good carry-on size like that. For most pretty much all airlines, that should be fine. Usually the standard like on the major American Airlines is 22 by 14 by 9 I believe. So this definitely falls in line with that and not so American Airlines like Southwest I know it's even even bigger I think it's like 24 by 10 by 16
