I’d also throw in the victorinox chefs knife, ours has seen daily use for at least 20 years now.

Lately, I've been shopping for workwear online at brands that are well established and known for their high quality standards. But reading the reviews on their website, it seems that even the good brands have lowered their standards by quite a lot.

I've taken some time to take note of the most common complaints in the reviews that I found (from most common to less common): 

1) Production moved from the US to Asia (label says Made in China, etc.)

2) More polyester percentage in the blends 

3) Overall durability drops from years to a few months, garments last less longer

4) Lower quality standards in the stitching, clothes come with small holes and appears unfinished

5) Thinner fabrics, especially on stress areas

6) Prices are more expensive than before when compared

7) Rest of the complaints mostly mentioned bad experiences with delivery services, strong smell of gasoline or plastic on the clothes, clothes not folded correctly, etc. so not really relevant to the quality of the clothes.

Are there brands out there that you've noticed are still living up to their hype and quality standards? Which one(s)?

I'm no expert on food processors but I know a lot about kitchen knives . A good price/value/quality choice is a victorinox chef's knife (the Swiss army penknife people). They have a secret sauce heat treatment that somehow makes their stainless blades behave rather like carbon knives and so are easy to sharpen.

 95% of the time I agree with them. This time I don't. For me the grip doesn't feel right. It is not comfortable to hold

  So, this is a softer steel knife. Meat processors love these because the quality is very good and the softer steel is easy for workers to hone quickly. It is easy to hone right back to a razor. As long as your aren't attempting to chop through a bone with this, you likely will never need to use a whetstone

  As a utility kitchen chopper / slicer, it's about as good as it gets under $80. The handle is grippy and larger. The blade is tall, has a good amount of rocker. And it is stainless steel so it's about as easy to take care of as anything in your kitchen

WHY oh WHY did they use such an unattractive, down right UGLY handle on this knife!!! Plus, mine arrived dirty and I can tell in no time at all that it would continue to be dirty. It looks horrible in my knife rack. Maybe it's a good knife (didn't try it) but I wouldn't keep a knife that looks that ugly. I thought it must be a protective coating because I couldn't believe that was the ACTUAL covering on the handle

Tried multiple Japanese knives and the Masamoto is truly different. Sharp and light on the hand but curved just right for cutting ease.
