First, I tried the JBL Boombox 2. I returned it. To my ears, the bass was overdone and thuddy, drowning out the mids and highs. Also, the sound was very directional, meaning that my ears had to be directly in line with the speaker (vertically and horizontally) to get some presence of mids and highs

I really like this! I just think the loudest it gets isnt loud enough! But I mean it is a Bluetooth wireless speaker. Also the price isnt as bad as some of the other ones! I would give it 8 out of 10 stars

For the price of the speaker AND other speakers this is very unreliable and UE needs to work on their software and connectivity. If you want this as a single speaker then it’s awesome, but $400 is a lot for a single portable speaker. If you want this for an integrated UE wireless Bluetooth system then I’m sorry to say this won’t work and look elsewhere. I know Bluetooth isn’t always so reliable, but I’ve had many other integrated Bluetooth speakers I use outdoors for much less money and they work better

I’m gna say that I know very little about speakers and sound but after much research- I have bought myself the Kef ls50 wireless version 1 and are awaiting speaker stands today- currently they are on the floor. Anyway- I listen to a lot of EDM and house music- but I’m finding the bass very “tight”, very “short”, almost “tappy” it doesn’t sound like the same bass on my AirPods or previous speakers.

- On the above note, I found when I used Android's 'play to two devices' function, 'dumber' bluetooth speakers have more immediate sound, whereas the Hyperboom definitely lags a bit; the delay is noticeable here. This fact ruins the speaker for use in an ad-hoc 'dual device' situation. - The speaker does crash sometimes - I've noticed party-up mode can make the host speaker crash.

I love the wireless convenience of the HEOS AVR and HEOS 1 with controlling everything over the app.

I eventually looked at my space and realized that if I moved my sofa up by 2 feet I would miss the door way and could place my surrounds on the walls in the proper place and I also could get rid of the shitty Samsung RUGarbageTV I had and get a 65” OLED and get the same field of view.

My happy medium is the [UE this has a 3.5 mm port AND an optical port, and sounds good enough (to my ear) for pretty much any music and movies

Its good for a 10-12 person gathering, will fill up a regular sized room but I would personally not describe it as a party speaker that will get people up from their seats to dance.

Replaced my 5.1 home theater setup with a much smaller 2-channel system. The previous setup was way too cramped in this NYC apartment.

The negatives - these don't matter to me but they might to you. It is pretty heavy (maybe just awkward because of size/shape and crappy rubber handle). Plenty portable, but I wouldn't take it on a hike or public transportation. I am not sure how water resistant it really is

FYI, the midrange issue might be due to the Cambridge CXA amp, which has a reserved sound from reviews.
