TWSBI ECO Black vs Moonman T1

Personally, I like the TWSBI eco for its large ink capacity and comfort. It has a good weight to it and there are beautiful colors! :)

This review is based on first use so I can't comment right now on long-term durability. Based on my first look of the Moonman T1 one, I think I'll like it more than the Ecos, of which I have 2. The Moonman glides more smoothly across the page while the TWSBI is a noisier scratch. I use ink from 2 different manufacturers with my 2 Ecos and the scratchiness is about the same in both

It uses cartridges, but doesn’t come with a converter. The TWSBI Eco is a great pen that may be more than you are thinking of spending ($30) but is a really nice pen that could be a buy it once and done. It is only bottle fill, and that adds about $10 for ink, but the pen is great and hold a lot of ink. Depending on your use this can be a factor

Not the end of the world, but for the price, I would expect a bit better from the pen. The bottom line; take about the same money and get a TWSBI Eco.

Now writing with this pen is where I have my problems. I compared it to the Lamy Safari and Metropolitan Pilot which are both cheaper than the TWSBI ECO and both write several orders of magnitude smoother than the TWSBI ECO. This pen is incredibly scratchy and this was directly comparing to the other 2 pens with 2 different inks. Carbon Ink Black and Waterman Serenity Blue

It's not terrible. It's just not great. How often would I ink this up? Probably not often. It's not going to be my daily pen

UPDATE March 2019: After over a year of using this pen, I'm my review from 4 to 5 stars. Ink flow is very smooth, and even the slight feedback this extra-fine nib had while writing/sketching is pretty much smoothed out as well. This plastic body is built like a tank; threw it around in all my bags along with keys and phones and everything and there's not a single scratch on it. The massive ink reservoir is also really, really handy for travel and on the go, as I hardly ever have to refill, and the clear body makes it incredibly easy to see when the ink is getting low

On ordinary notebook paper it dries faster than on higher quality smooth paper. On ordinary paper it can feel a bit rough, but on higher quality paper its as smooth as silk. Overall: looking at other reviews, it seems that construction quality might vary. But the pen I got works great

I really really enjoy writing with this pen. I got a Pilot Metropolitan last year so when I initially picked this one up, I was a little put off by how light it felt in comparison. but after a few weeks of using it I'm super happy with the weight difference - this one really glides across the page (in a Clairefontaine notebook) and it's really nice to be able to switch between a lighter pen and a weightier one. it is also of course very cool & useful to see how much ink is left in the pen

The machined metal cap feels very nice and is quite heavy. Grip was a tad small. I also prefer the way Twsbis write though the Moonman was just fine for me.
