TWSBI ECO Black vs Moonman M2

Personally, I like the TWSBI eco for its large ink capacity and comfort. It has a good weight to it and there are beautiful colors! :)

I filled it with Thornton's Red ink, in the customary manner of matching the pen to ink color, and it is just a wonder to behold. The clear acrylic is luminous and sets off the translucency of the deep red ink creating an almost magical effect. I also really like the solid acrylic caps on both ends. They capture and bend the light in ways that are delightful

It uses cartridges, but doesn’t come with a converter. The TWSBI Eco is a great pen that may be more than you are thinking of spending ($30) but is a really nice pen that could be a buy it once and done. It is only bottle fill, and that adds about $10 for ink, but the pen is great and hold a lot of ink. Depending on your use this can be a factor

This pen is well priced, a value, and more fun to write with than the Delike Alpha, Pilot Metropolitan, or Lamy Vista I bought for a similar price. This will likely be my go-to travel/daily carry pen for awhile.

Now writing with this pen is where I have my problems. I compared it to the Lamy Safari and Metropolitan Pilot which are both cheaper than the TWSBI ECO and both write several orders of magnitude smoother than the TWSBI ECO. This pen is incredibly scratchy and this was directly comparing to the other 2 pens with 2 different inks. Carbon Ink Black and Waterman Serenity Blue

Can not recommend you purchase. Maybe I happened to get a bad one, but I’m not going to try and return a pen that I’ve clearly filled with ink. Other reviewers seem happy, so it’s quite possible this is a fluke, but I was not happy with this purchase. If I were to do it over, I would look elsewhere and pick up another Hongdian, or something in that equivalent price range

I really like Lamy Safari and Al-Star because they force me to correct my grip. But for longer periods, I like my TWSBI Eco! I rotate the three because my grip is slightly different with each, and that seems to help with hand fatigue.

The touted improvement is really a step back, in my opinion. Manufacturer should make the anodization more grippy and the pen would be awesome. Instead of the aluminum grip, I would recommend opt for the clear grip which is same material as the pen body (resin/plastic), and has a nicer grip.

UPDATE March 2019: After over a year of using this pen, I'm my review from 4 to 5 stars. Ink flow is very smooth, and even the slight feedback this extra-fine nib had while writing/sketching is pretty much smoothed out as well. This plastic body is built like a tank; threw it around in all my bags along with keys and phones and everything and there's not a single scratch on it. The massive ink reservoir is also really, really handy for travel and on the go, as I hardly ever have to refill, and the clear body makes it incredibly easy to see when the ink is getting low

Now for the pen itself. I personally loved the transparent design. For my size hand, which is on the large size, it fit perfectly and was very well balanced. The materials seemed to be of a very high quality, including the nib itself

This pen (TWSBI ECO) is fantastic! Easy to fill, easy to clean, nice plastic case with included tool, liquid silicone sealer and pictured instructions on pen care. Overall thrilled with this purchase and would purchase another in a minute. Highly recommended.

Writes smoothly, and has little flex. Again, this is a must have at this price point. I’d just love to see more choices of nib size but this is still worth 5 stars, easy.
