I wanted to play it but had two problems: I have never been a boardgamer before so I was worried about the complexity and who on earth was going to sit down for a 3 hour boardgame with me? This game is pretty rule heavy, so I wouldn't recommend if you are new to board games or if you like games that you can learn in 15-30 minutes. That being said, this game is great if you are a fan of longer war games (think Risk, Axis and Allies, War of the Ring). My favorite part about this game is that the event cards are all reflective of important political events at the time. You don't need to have a lot of history knowledge to enjoy the game, but the facts and tidbits along the way keep the game engaging when it gets drawn out

Intricate with a bazillion little easy-to-lose pieces for any age, this Cold War game looked like a winner, but just ended in mutually assured destruction. My sister was reading the instructions out loud for literally 45 minutes while we tried to set up the game. Never got to play it. We gave up

Have a seat and get relaxed when you first open it because it's going to take awhile to remove all the punch-outs. Definitely nowhere as taxing as Gloomhaven, but still it's going to take a bit. Also, the book lists the different pieces but doesn't show all the tokens so there might be a little confusion about which tokens should be separated or lumped together. I like to organize into different baggies, but the manual didn't state which tokens go with which colors or races

The sense of despair that we experience when the other player has an advantage is thrilling, and it really gets us interested in the historic details that surround the Cold War era (we're both too young to have experienced it in person). Game Length - most people suggest around a 3 hour playtime, but our games have never been anywhere near that short. It's probably due to our aforementioned indecisiveness, and we never feel like this is a problem. We usually play a couple hours at a time, then resume the next evening

**Twilight Imperium** - I don't like negotiation and I like my games to stay under 2 hours, preferably an hour or less. TI is beloved by many but I can't see myself ever enjoying it.

Never Clicked: **Twilight Struggle** and **Watergate** these games are pretty similar and I thought my problem with Twilight Struggle was that it was pretty long and just too big for me to really get it after a couple of attempts to play it. Tried playing Watergate a few times and I bounced off of it because I never felt like I could do what I wanted and was mitigating more than playing. Ultimately, didn't enjoy either game enough to really give them another shot, but I can respect them as games.

I asked a question of them and they responded via email within a couple days. Answered the question precisely. One more thing, make sure ypu have a TON of space to play, so many parts and the board is huge.

First let me say that this game is heavy and you really need to sit on the toilet and read the instruction manual. You play as either the Russians or the US during the cold war. Everything is based on real events that have happened during that time period. Game is made well and was worth it when learned

-- but it's yet another thing that's "required" and not included in the game. But, above all, this is an excellent heavy strategy game with a sizable commitment. If people go into this expecting Catan-in-space, they're going to be severely disappointed, severely frustrated, or both. With the time commitment, the space required, and the familiarity of rules necessary to exploit the game world to its fullest, this is the best game you'll never play
