Tudor Black Bay 58 vs Nomos Club

After seeing the Tudor Black Bay 58 on social media I had to go into an AD and see one for myself. Went to the closest AD and found one on their nato strap, tried it on, and fell in love! But I did not buy it on site. I had to try it on the bracelet before pulling the trigger.

Today, I have it mounted on a new Crown & Buckle “Imre” strap from their Black Label collection. Good design not only involves the arrangement of elements and materials, but the selection of those materials.

In the end, for me, it felt more my style than a sub and has a bit more unique character to it. My favorite element is the contrast between the matte dial and the gilt shiny hands and marker surrounds.

I love the design and attention to detail this watch has, plus the fact that if you change the strap to a brown leather or even fabric it can be matched with more casual wear. Perfect travel watch. I take this and this watch only on all of my overseas travel – functional, robust, don’t have to stress about banging it up, don’t have to worry about it getting stolen.

In my mind it's always been the ideal watch - wearable daily, not too flashy, virtually indestructible, and incredibly well-made. It is the final piece rounding off my current 3 watch collection of the white dial Nomos Club Campus 38, and a two-tone Datejust with oyster bracelet that was passed down to me from my dad. It is the nicest thing I've ever purchased and I'm sitting here loving it and staring at it with 0 buyer's remorse.
