Japanese quality at its most glorious!  First, it was wrapped in four layers of protection: two layers of plastic, one cotton bag, and one heavy-duty cardboard box. The cotton bag and cardboard box are so well-made that they can be reused.  The quality of the leather is superior to products with ten times the price, and reminds me of those old Ricardo Montalban commercials advertising the "rich, Corinthian leather." I had actually purchased this agenda from the hobonichi website, only to realize the shipping was more than the book! I tried looking on Japanese stationary sites based in America, but they were sold out. I was wary about buying this since it might have been a knock off, but it is the real thing. This is my second year using this planner and I love it. It has a whole page for each day of the year, which makes it easy to write down a lot each day
