Great travel backpack

 Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it.  -comfortable carry-on bag that is designed as a minimal backpack. Can be incognito from budget airlines and can blend into a crowd of people in a city without looking like a tourist

 Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes. Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it

I was torn between this and the Osprey Farpoint 40L. After trying both of them out, the Tortuga won. Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes

Best Travel Backpack

 Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag. If you don’t have inserts of your own you might want to buy them to help maintain shape structure but overall highly recommended.

I took the 45L bag from the US to Rio and back as a carry-on bag. No issues from the airlines and I had the bag full to max weight with equipment and clothing. Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag

 The alloy wishbone frames are lightweight but they're sturdy to support a full pack and to effectively transfer weight down to the hip belt. The flexible panels on the hip belt move with your body, so the pack floats along as you hike. This is especially noticeable on steep rocky terrain, because the belt gives you freedom to make dynamic movements, but the pack doesn't feel like it's pulling or pushing you off balance the belt cradles your hips and is free of large seams that could otherwise cause hot spots.  but if they're a little longer I could fit better gear because even though I'm an extra small size in a backpack, my gear is still normal size. I tried strapping my foam sleeping pad to the top and the straps weren't long enough for that either. So it's like you know, a little extra, like an extra inch or something might be really helpful, but I do like that they're pretty lightweight and small. And then we have this big old stretchy pocket in the front here which is easy to shove a bunch of stuff in

 This is a pretty lightweight backpacking pack for women. This is the extra small size because I'm like right on the level of small and extra small because of my waist width. I picked the extra small because I've bought a small Gregory before and I just couldn't get the waist small enough. So I'm gonna put my specs below so you can see my size compared to the pack

 But here's a look at it so I really like. I like how they have their waist straps. It's really easy to just open it up and cinch it down so on the go as you're hiking. If you want to adjust something, it makes it really easy

 I like these zipper pulls, it makes it really easy to just, uh, get your finger in there and you can get in and out super quick and get a good grip on it. It has loops, little loops everywhere for whatever you need. um and then here and then we get on the sides. we get this big super stretchy mesh pocket and a couple straps here

 Ventilation So, how did the Gregory Maven 45 fare against my top 3? For fit, I could adjust the shoulder straps and hip belt with markings to help me fine tune the fit, heavy duty closed loop fasteners to hold it in place. After a couple of false starts, I used my existing pack as a guide to adjust the shoulder straps for the perfect fit. The hip belt is substantial and there are additional panels, again adjustable. It may take a time or two, but once it's sized correctly, it falls naturally on your hips and shoulders

 I scrambled up and down steep trails and rocks and always felt like it moved well with me without hotspots. The waist pockets are large enough to hold my large cell phone, as long as I don't have a battery pack attached. The loop zipper pull makes it easy to find it to open and close while on the move.That said, I'd like it better if there were some stretch in the pocket

I do a lot of extended day hikes and occasional overnights. Although I don't often need a larger pack, I opt for one because it provides better suspension and comfort than many day packs, even if it's half empty! When I evaluate a pack, I'm looking at 1. I have not hiked with this pack yet, but so far it's exactly what I need. I love the new side zipper! It will be fantastic to access my gear without creating a jumble of everything in the pack!

Just did a couple miles to test this out. Lightweight, very comfortable with all the features you need and no extras.

Great pack

 I can actually put my hands completely behind that back panel, so that means you've got plenty of ventilation to keep you cool on the trail, the phone. That'S right behind your back! Is nice and squishy and comfortable and moves with you, but they have a different density of foam behind that to give a little bit more rigidity and then there's all kinds of cutouts in that foam to maintain a lot of ventilation. While we're on the back, I want to point out the nice big lid pocket here. You have access into here that you don't want to get lost in the rest of your hat, and you also have a shallow pocket here that you can store keys, there's even a key clip on the inside there down here on the bottom

 What this does is when the weight of the pack is pushed down on the pack with gravity is really rigid and supports that way actively transferring the load to your hips. But then, as you move on the trail as you're hiking, the pack can actually move with you, so it doesn't feel rigid. It doesn't feel boxy and it says that at a pretty low weight, an iconic feature about a lot of Gregory's pack is a lumbar pad. That'S really built out when you cinch down that hip belt
