I would suggest a solid client like TorGuard but of course you need to establish what’s leaking and why.

Internet provider coming after me for piracy… I always have my VPN on. Not sure how or why they are seeing any activity (I also rarely download anything or host anything)

Been using TorGuard for a couple of years and they have been rock solid.  They have a custom config generator for OpenVPN & Wireguard connections that you can plug directly into QbittorrentVPN or DelugeVPN.

I am looking to switch my VPNs. I was using Ivacy but lately it has been acting up not to mention I have been having issues with it randomly dropping connection but not properly running the killswitch. I read that TorGuard is good but I am not sure what options to get on it. To be honest not sure if it is even the best one to get. I use Qbittorrent for my torrent software.  Any advice for someone who is lost?

Monthly VPN recommendations megathread: the only place for mentioning specific providers

Torguard has been the fastest VPN I've used. PIA, CactusVPN, and PrivateVPN have been ~ 20mb/s slower which is not bad at all but using a 50% off code on Torguard gives you the cheapest price out of them all making it 100% worth it.

<div class="md">Welcome to my torguard review, hope you&#39;ll find some useful info that you can take into account when searching for your provider. First a very short summary of the product: 

It&#39;s not the best of the best VPN that I&#39;ve tried, but there are far far worse than this. Overall I could recommend to someone that I like. 

Torguard is based in the USA, so first and foremost, if you&#39;re looking for something that is not part of any of the eyes cooperation, just look at another provider. They also haven&#39;t done any auditing as some of the other vpns so that could be concerning to some people. In my case I didn&#39;t really care about it. Occasionally I did ip check and saw no leaks.

I used it mainly for torrenting because torguard has port forwarding and they worked pretty well for it. Downloads were going pretty steadily. There wasn&#39;t a significant drop in my connection speed that I know of. Or I was very good at picking the right servers. The few times I tried it on Netflix it was a hit or miss, but I haven&#39;t researched that part that much, so I can&#39;t say that I do not recommend it for streaming. 

Price-wise they&#39;re not free and they&#39;re not super cheap, but their monthly price is somewhat decent comparing to some of the other providers I&#39;ve checked. It gets significantly more expensive if you want to stream movies and so on, though, so keep that in mind when buying the cheapest option that they have.

This is a better deal for them than for you, and consequently we get people here every week regretting they were locked in a multi-year subscription. Torguard is popular among YouTubers and some websites because they have a generous affiliate program, so they cash in everytime someone signs-up with their code. Conversely, Mullvad lacks affiliates so every recommendation is from a happy user.

Is tomspark to be trusted? Im think of buying torguard with three year deal so i can get it for 90$. I know it is based in the US, but it doesnt really matter, does it? The vpn i have seen a lot good talk about is Mullvad, but that is based in the 14 eyes too, and imo they would 100% start logging user if goverment were to ask.

I started out using OpenVPN as well. However, the speed and latency was always very bad even though my VPS connection is fast.After spending too much time trying to figure it out, I decided to just spend just $55/year and use StrongVPN. Added bonus, I can use StrongVPN on my iPad/iPhone!

 trying to diversify its product line can only lead to its core product, the vpn, losing ground to other providers. i could deal with the marketing shenanigans if the actual product was beyond reproach. now, personally, i don't give a single flying fuck about the other nord products. i want one thing only - a reliable vpn that, as OP said, does its job, and sits silently in the background

now, to be fair - the vpn is still good. and that's the point - it could be *sooo* much better if more time were spent on it, instead of on building a nord ecosystem, which we never asked for. my subscription has a lot of time left, but when it nears its end, you can bet your ass I'll be looking around for alternatives, and by that i mean a strong vpn-only solution, and not a cloud-storage/password manager/fuck knows what else they'll come up with/vpn hybrid monstrosity of a product.

I was in Shanghai last month & in previous years bypassing the firewall was not too much of a hassle. When I arrived in Shanghai for the holidays this year my old VPN provider didn't work anymore, plus they added DNS poisoning and bandwidth throttling. I actually upgraded TO StrongVPN, which seems to be one of the affected VPN services now.My conclusion was that it has become effectively impossible to run a western IT-oriented business from Shanghai
