If you're looking for just a backpack just to be a backpack though, and to and from the office, maybe to the gym, to and from class, this bag is gonna fit your needs very well. As long as you don't expect it to be feature-rich and have all these pockets and you know what you're getting into, you're gonna love this bag. Now to the cons of the bag

 It's still just that Cordillera fabric and I found that it doesn't breathe very well on your back and it's kind of a buzzkill for me. My next con is gonna be the laptop sleeve is not padded I Don't really know how you could market this bag for you know, everyday use where people are taking their laptops here and there and the only thing protecting that laptop is a tiny piece of nylon separating that in the main compartment. It's just a recipe for disaster, especially with the crap that we throw in the main compartment. along with laptops running upwards of like $3,000 nowadays

 You know you can unzip it, throw whatever crap you need to grab really quickly just because you don't wanna put it in the main compartment because stuff can kind of go to the bottom and it will get too in a second. And what I really like about it is the zipper on it. That thing is super heavy-duty I really don't know how you can break it and I know how you guys all know that once the zipper goes, it kind of the bag falls apart. so Topos done a really good job of putting like a really beefy zipper

 Here you got that nice topo bright, yellow inside really lights up the bag, so you can really see what's at the bottom, so you don't lose anything and then at the top we have another quick grab pocket here. This one kind of goes over the top of the bag, depending on how much you have it packed out. If you got these tightened down more, it's gon na lay a little bit flatter here, so you can have more access to it. Otherwise, it'll kind of be behind the back your neck, which is you know, not a bad spot for a more safety conscious people just so it's harder to get into it, while you're wearing it

 Then you're gon na have on the classic, and it's just got like a kind of like slick feel to it. So the water should bounce right off of that. But again as with all these the same sort of organization, you have you know the stretchy water bottle pockets and compression straps, although they are metal on this one. But it's all sort of the same and then in this middle pocket

 One and two, and then a small, a couple, little loops in front of that. If you want to like clip your keys to one of these just so they don't fall to the bottom of your pocket and then yeah. We have a couple smaller loops here on this other side, so a little bit of organization they're still not too much kind of keeps that minimal style while still having that more luxury feel and the back panel and shoulder straps on these are noticeably by a large Margin much more comfortable, it's really more thick dense, padding all over versus just having this kind of more like mesh. You know crunchy material, this real thick foam and so you'll kind of notice

 So, just a nice little day pack, we don't really need too much. As you can see, we just have a some mesh padding here, not the thickest, not the densest, but it'll get the job done. Unless you really load this thing out, then you may be wishing it had a little bit more, but for normal day to day use these do just fine and then up top. We just have a little grab handle here

 So I replaced the regular drawstring with red and I put the internal. It's an internal small zipper pouch and we'll get a good camera close-up here in a second. But I did a little red tie for the zipper and these zippers are really, really really nice and strong. Um, so we'll close that up and we'll clip it now

 So here's kind of a close-up All this really nice detailing made in America. I love this fabric. I like this khaki material here as well. and these really cool seat belt kind of straps, back straps, backpacks, and you got these little loops to hang anything or to put a sternum strap

 just make you know kind of a basic strap one one too crazy. So they go like this and then they tuck in. They'll tuck into the opposite thing right here. So here you go

This is a great location to put your toothbrush, your keys, your cell phone, anything you need to easily access while you're out on the trail. Hi folks shane here with and wild today, we're checking out the gregory kalmia 50 women's backpack. This breezy pack offers fantastic ventilation for hot weather backpacking, while maintaining the support and comfort you need for long miles. Let'S take a closer look: [, Music, ], no matter what the conditions are, how light your pack is or how much gear you bring, there's always going to be some amount of physical discomfort involved in backpacking. That said, there are plenty of ways to reduce that discomfort

 To a minimum for summer backpacking trips, when you're, really working up a sweat, the back panel design of your pack can make the difference between being sweaty and miserable all day and catching some cool breezes to stay drier and more comfortable. The free float 360 suspension system on the calmia offers super breathable tensioned mesh along a lightweight steel, alloy perimeter frame with a fiberglass anti-barrelling stay. All of this means that you get a trampoline style back panel that conforms to your body while maintaining a gap between most of your back and the pack body. Despite its airy breathability, the suspension system still maintains great load transfer for gear loads of up to 45 pounds thanks to gregory's comfort, cradle lower back system

 Adjustability through the torso, shoulder straps, sternum and hip belt, really allow you to fine tune the fit to your shape, which is essential for a comfortable carry this top loading pack offers 50 liters of simple storage to keep you organized without having a ton of excess pockets And straps there is side zipper access to the main compartment in addition to the traditional cinched collar up top.  The sleeping bag, side and back compartments offer organization without compromising the streamlined feel of the pack--no snagging on brush! The harness and belt easily and fully adjust  to my body size and are easy to readjust in the field as my pack weight shifts along the course of a trip. A small detail worth noting is that the male and female buckle ends are color coded--subtly, but also enough that you're never fumbling with incompatible pieces.

 The frustrating part is that the shoulder harness and belt weren't very comfortable in exchange for all this weight and noise. The rotation system which made all the noise tended to pull the straps too close together instead of letting them widen out as they should. I'd pull them apart and they'd sit at a comfortable distance for about 20 minutes before eventually pinching again. I did not have good luck with the 360 float system either

 Also, the back mesh pocket, which is a normal size, got a hole in it almost immediately. So I'm not thrilled with the durability either. I'm switching back to my other pack even though it says it's not designed for larger loads. I'll risk damaging it to be comfortable and have better use of external pockets

 The single mesh side pocket on this one is so narrow I could only fit in a map or other thin item like socks when the pack is loaded. It's TINY and there isn't another one on the other side for some unfathomable reason. Also, the back mesh pocket, which is a normal size, got a hole in it almost immediately. So I'm not thrilled with the durability either

 The butterfly shoulder harness squeaked so loudly the entire time I walked that I couldn't hear other hikers coming up behind me. There was zero chance of enjoying the wilderness unless I took my pack off or stood completely still. Incredibly loud, nearly ruined trip

I used this for a 17 mile trip last weekend, and it was a winner. I had previously bought the Deva 60, but felt like the fit wasn’t great and was frustrated with the small hip belt pockets. This pack fixed all my frustrations with the Deva. It’s lighter and there’s more ability to adjust the shoulder straps which meant the pack fit much better and was way more comfortably sitting on my hips
