When I use a petty knife at work its going to either be used during a busy service or in some capacity where I don't care what happens to it. It's the disposable knife. Given that this knife holds an acceptable edge and is priced reasonably enough for that purpose for me. I wouldn't recommend it for home use as the handle has imperfections and there are several spots on the blade that required polishing to get rough edges, such as the spine of the blade

 It fits my needs and would recommend it in the disposable capacity but not as much else. I might just spend the extra money for a Misono petty next time just for the better handle.

Acceptable

 They are replacing a Victorinox Chef’s Knife and a Victorinox Boning Knife.  Both Tojiro knives are the sharpest knives straight out of the box that I have ever seen, and both are capable of making thin cuts. I make beef sandwiches from medium rare New York Strip steaks and beef jerky from eye of the round. I make deli style paper thin cuts on both the New York strips and ripe tomatoes for the sandwiches

 In time I edit this post with the results.  These knives will need honing and sharpening at some point in time. It is imperative to keep the bevel on each side at 15 degrees. That requirement leaves very few options for which tools can get the job done

 Tojiro DP knives has solved that problem for me. I’ve only had these knives for a short time, and only time will tell if they stay sharp for a long time as I expect. In time I edit this post with the results.  These knives will need honing and sharpening at some point in time

Great Knives

Like the other Tojiro DP kitchen knives we own, this one is superb--especially considering the price point. If I could go back in time to the Early Quaternary Period and change our wedding registry to get rid of all the German kitchen knives we own from Wusthof and Henckels that cost our friends and relations twice as much but are made of Swiss Army Knife steel that stays sharp just long enough to slice about two tomatoes, I would do so gladly. Tojiro does it again--outstanding performance for great value

This is my first "decent' knife and it is awesome! I'm a very small person and I think any bigger and the knife would have felt too large and unnatural in my hand. It's really sharp and has a great medium weight to it. It feels really solid. I've never really been into kitchen knives before, but my current one was just an ordinary cheap paring knife and this Tojira knife has made cutting vegetables a more enjoyable task

Handle is comically small. Otherwise a pretty good petty knife.

 I also like the shape of the handle over the oval shape of some Japanese knives with smaller handles.

The Gransfors Small Splitting Axe can be used for medium-sized firewood. It is forged and ground to a concave, quite thin blade at the bit. The axe cuts quickly and easily into the wood and then effectively splits it as the broader section pushes apart the wood. The handle has a protective steel collar below the axe head and circular grooves towards the end for an extra firm grip. Splitting Axes should not be used for striking a wedge or as a wedge.  I like a knife like this, because I don't need something crazy, heavy and tactical and super duty that I can pound through. You know a four inch log or something I'm gon na use that an ax or a hatchet, or a saw for that. It's soft and will age well after continue care and applying leather conditioner oil.  The handle seems very strong, tightly grained hickory with excellent orientation.  I find working with it to be pure joy. I'll grant that it is expensive, but in this case I think you get what you pay for. I would buy it again in a heartbeat

Great Little Axe

 I use this ax nearly every single day. It’s an ideal size for having near a wood stove or furnace. I have mine in a small corridor next to my wood stove that’s used to hold wood pre-burn. The ceiling is low (about 6’4”) due to ductwork

 If you’re looking for something that you can handle and will occasionally split small amounts of timber you’ll want this. Worth every penny.

 The strap is too long and causes the sheath to come loose when hiking or any kind of movement is involved. I contacted both Kenco and Gransfors in order to remedy this situation but have not heard from them in over 9 days. This is truly unfortunate because, though my experience with Gransfors has been positive thus far, I'm left wondering if this was a vendor issue or if it was manufactured incorrectly. Regardless, the premium price that Gransfors Bruk charges for their axes leaves one hoping that a quality issue such as this would not be overlooked
