First things first, let’s take a look at this pack’s external pockets, starting with the large pocket on the front. We’ve been keeping the essentials like our keys, wallet, and a pair of headphones inside for easy grabbing-and-going while we’re on the move, and its bright liner makes everything inside easy to spot. We do wish the zipper for this pocket were on the opposite side, as we’re typically slinging bags around our right side when reaching inside, but your mileage may vary. 

The zippers on this pack have altogether been working smoothly during our testing. They have large, easy-to-grab pulls that help them zip and unzip with ease. This comes as no surprise, as they’re from YKK, which is a brand we have mostly positive experiences with (and a lot of them). We do have one small nitpick with the zippers around the main and laptop compartments that we’ll cover later in the review

At the very top of the bag is a thick handle with lots of padding that’s comfortable to grab and convenient for picking up the pack when you need to move it or get something out. It also features that same seat belt-like material you’ll find on the shoulder straps that’s nice and smooth in hand.

Now, we’re going to move into this pack’s front compartment. It opens up horseshoe-style and has some gusseted fabric on the sides, which allows you to get some nice visibility and access inside that you wouldn’t normally get with this kind of opening.

Looks like a cool backpack...but does anything you make have hip straps? I'm trying to find a company that makes a hard-shell, hug-the-back (with ample airflow to minimize sweat on the commute), bag with hip straps!

 Next up, I have a simple Maxpedition pouch that has some of my dongles and smaller tech accessories. Then I also have a full-size moleskin notebook and then the last thing that I currently have in here is my levitate portable standing desk and that fits in there really easily, and so now, with the department empty, you can get a better look at the inside plenty Of space here, I really like how much the bag comes up, making it great for holding some bulkier accessories. This is also what's gon na make it very easy to store something like a change of clothes and maybe some shoes, if you're planning, to go to the gym after work. So really like the amount of space that this offers and an impressive thing, is that this isn't even expanded out yet so, even with just the current shape of the bag, it has plenty of space and then on the back of the compartment

 If you and a half a bigger frame - and if you have a little bit more of a minimal daily carrying, you just want something sleeker to use for your EDC. The land commuter backpack, maybe a slightly better option to check out continuing on with the straps. In the back paneling, the bag has been very comfortable to wear. I really like how the straps have been implemented here

 If you have to store something a little bit thicker then at the bottom. It'S also really nice that they have these holes that allow the pocket to drain. If you happen to spill something or if you get caught in some rain and then one difference that we see here between this bag and the lane commuter, is that the inclusion of these compression straps? So it has these magnetic buckles that you can use to compress the bag down when it's not as full, and then you can also use this to secure something a little bit taller like a tripod so that it doesn't tip over. So a really nice addition here, especially considering that there's a little bit of a larger bag and then on the front

 The bag and as you can see it comes up a pretty nice amount, giving you some extra capacity if you want to use this for a longer weekend trip. So I really like the versatility that this expansion adds it's very well implemented. You can see just how much the compartment comes up as you expand it out, and so now what the bag expanded out. You have a lot more flexibility

..Let's move past the beautiful aesthetics. The bag has a great back pad, awesome straps, and nice room for 13-15" laptop (my Razer blade 15" fits perfectly in the sleeve)

It is also great for hikes, traveling, and since I live in Orlando, days at the theme park. This is a great, sleek and well-made pack but I do wonder if it is slightly too small. I love the light-weight feel and it wears very comfortably when I commute but it doesn't hold much more than a change of clothes and a packed lunch. I would like something in between this pack and the larger ones but I like the look of this one the best! I'm still testing it out but I am liking it!

 Unfortunately I have lost one of the Sternum Straps and this allows it to shift when I am on the bike - would love to buy a replacement set of straps.

I use it to commute to work part of which is on a bicycle (Go CitiBike!). Love that it is water resistant and has a large reflective panel that keeps me visible at night on the NYC streets in winter. Lightweight compared to other packs I have owned. Not enough compartments inside but I can deal with that

Great commuting pack

 The laptop pocket is big enough to fit a 14" Thinkpad and just fits a 2016 15" MacBook Pro (without a case or sleeve on it). The back padding provides excellent airflow and is great for riding. The included rain cover is a great addition and you can actually put a couple necessities in that bottom pocket like a spare tube and mini pump. However, a couple things led me to return this bag
