 If you're gonna choose train cards, you can either pick two from the cards that are revealed or two random ones. It's not all luck of the draw because there are five options for you to choose from. However, if you don't like any of the options that are revealed to you, you compress your luck and draw two from the deck. You know once you get your ticket, destination cards and you can see, then you're like, But then I'm thinking of myself in my head like no, no, don't look at it Everyone will know So it's like I saw your eyes

 [Music] Overall, I'd say I give Ticket A Ride a seven. I like the pieces, they're simple, the cards, simple rules, you know, not too complicated, and setup doesn't take too long too. And overall, it's a good game. I'm gonna give Ticket To Ride a seven

 Just if you look at the back of the box you know that you're building rounds. It's also car drafting because you lay out the train cards and then each player when on your turn.  We have to clean each one individually with Windex and wipe each of them individually, then let each one sit out individually to dry. This sort of takes care of the dirt and stickiness, but the lamination should be better, especially how everything else keeps clean. We haven't needed to clean them again since the one time. It would be nice if the cards were larger, too

 You’ve got to keep at least one. These give a method to the madness of which routes you buy.  As you lay down your trains you rack up points, The longer the track, the larger the gain. If you successfully complete the route on your destination card, you also rack up points, but those you conceal till the end of the game

So there is evidence that the theme can be slanted, but in Ticket To Ride Europe, game play is the same with some twists, like you can use someone else’s route for your destination’s sake without getting points for the route, and you route requiring tunneling through mountains are more pricey. These off-shoot stand alone games are a good way for Days of Wonder to charge full price for what could have been a less expensive expansion to the existing game

 I guess there are eccentric people out there, who are happy to shell out another $35 to $50.  Collateral Endorsement  I haven’t come across a soul who didn’t like this game, but you may say that my social circles are small. You are probably right, but I love growing them with games. My kids love to line up the trains from here to there, but they have severed my board in one place, so beware, the (read: any) board is best set up on a table rather than the carpet floor where wee feet are wont to walk

The Early Bird Catches the Worm

Fun game to play. Easy game to teach the kids to play with the adults. Gets kids knowing where major cities are and how to pronounce them.

How good is Small World?

The setup and play are very hard to understand. Outside of a neat box and concept, this is probably one to stay away from..

Too difficult for most

 i thought I was disproportionately bummed about it but then we babysat and our friends daughters also commented that their favorite part about the game was the cards and that the smaller size and simpler design was an outrage. So I felt validated.  I would happily pay more for those magnificent cards or collectors editions with special art. I did order the extension set which had better cards but still feel that the game should have come with the original, magnificent cards

This is one of my favorite games of all time. We had played it for years at a friend's house so I ordered my own copy. It combines strategy, luck, transit and.

A really fun game

There's something about the texture and weight of plastic pieces that makes them vastly inferior to their wooden counterparts. If Ticket to Ride came with wooden trains, I think my enjoyment of it would increase tenfold.

What Did You Play This Week? - (July 12, 2021)

It may seem complicated, but once you learn it, the game is great fun. It is just okay for 2 players, but much more challenging and entertaining with at least 3. It is not a quick game, so plan to spend at least an hour to play, depending on how many players you have (and how quickly they make decisions). If you play often, consider purchasing the expansion pack! Highly recommended

Addictive game

Technically my Dads, but he bought Ticket to Ride 10th anniversary edition as our first proper board game. This meant we were children when we started to play this which, coupled with the fact that we didn't sleeve it means the cards are pretty dirty and worn. Which is slightly disappointing as that game is not cheap, we could have made a decent chunk of change if only we'd have thought to sleeve it. Edit: 10th not 15th

I know lots of us go through a lot of effort to make sure our games stay in pristine condition, but there’s also some charm to a game that has been visibly loved. 

For example the box for my copy of Can’t Stop has well-worn white corners from being pulled off the shelf and transported so often. 

I have a couple decks of Tichu cards that are warped and wavy from being shuffled so much.

What is the most well-worn game you own?

  As I said, it's very simple to grasp. But there's quite a bit of complexity, as most of the tasks can be completed multiple ways, and players can actively try to block one-another's routes and strategies by getting to certain areas first. With dozens of locations on the map and numerous "tickets" to play, it makes each new playthrough fun and unique. There's near-endless replay value, and with various expansions and "sequels" having been released, there's even more potential for players who master this original edition

 If I were to nitpick, I would definitely say the cards are oddly small and thus can be hard to shuffle and handle- especially at the start of each game, when you'll end up spending 15 minutes just trying to mix them up as much as possible. But it's a small price to pay for such a fun game.  Overall, Ticket to Ride has quickly become a family favorite, and it is definitely one I'd highly recommend! A 5 out of 5!

 All you're doing is just an audible no yeah kind of thing, which yeah, whatever. Um, and you know this, this clearly hit a certain need or desire in these players. uh, for something that didn't require the same cost that say the uh, a straight role-playing game would and you didn't have um, a rich level of kind of moderate games that were available to convince people. People looked at the Avalon Hill stuff, even the fantasy based stuff and their immediate thought was oh yeah, I've seen them in with the D D stuff

 So these first two and then dragons, uh, was the he throwing more and more stuff in. They also diluted the amount of stuff that you could deal with early on by making more powerful things. and they kind of, I think diluted the amount of monsters to to useful stuff ratio. Um, [Music] I'm not positive about that, but I get that feeling that more and more stuff you could carry around that may or may not even be useful

 he makes you the King's champion and the the final one. The Master Thief is kind of an iffy one to be like all kind of random happens to you in terms of money. like you gain and lose money and maybe gain and lose warrants and like that all game long and it doesn't really do much for you although it comes with a stat bonus again uh that one also is hard. There's one card in the deck
