Yepp Maxi Child Bike Seat Review

 I'm going to do this review for the Yep Maxi seat that is sold by Thule.

 I just did a video for the Mack ride, which you can see there.

 But for our younger son, Ryder, who is almost two, we needed something that he could be

 Having a five-point harness is something that we really wanted.

 And we decided on the Yep Maxi for a couple of reasons.

 Some friends of ours got the Thule ride along, and I can kind of talk about what the differences

 So the Yep Maxi so far, we really like it.

 One thing I really like is that it's just this nice kind of flexy, rubbery kind of material.

 So it's kind of grippy, so our son isn't like sliding around on it.

 If it gets dirty or muddy, you can just hose it off.

 It's very light as well, like the actual seat itself is very light.

 The seat stirrups, these are like a hard plastic kind of material, not like a nice rubber.

 The Mack ride has this nice rubbery material for the strips.

 This is like a hard plastic, so it's a little tricky or it's hard getting it on there.

 It would have been nicer if they did a nice rubber, but that's okay.

 These little foot stirrups are very easily adjustable.

 You just pop this lock up, they slide up and down.

 Has a bunch of reflectors on the back, which is nice.

 The shoulder height is adjustable between two.

 I think the Thule Ride Along has more adjustment that way.

 Now the Thule Ride Along has like a foam or like a fabric seat that's supposed to be a

 bit more comfortable, but if it gets dirty, you can take it off and launder it.

 I like the idea of just having, like it's a bike, we have it on a mountain bike.

 I like the idea of just being able to wipe this down or hose it off.

 The Thule Ride Along has a three point harness where this has a five point harness, so it

 Now one thing about this bike is that it is lockable.

 You push this red button, pull this lever, and then you can actually slide the seat off.

 So this part here actually slides off this bracket.

 So when the seat is off the bike, from here on, stays on the bike.

 Now with the Thule Ride Along, the seat kind of has two bars that come down and lock on

 a section that permanently stays on the actual bike.

 So it is different how it kind of gets set up.

 Now you can adjust the angle of this slightly, which is make it nice for the different seats.

 The one thing I liked about this one was this big bar here doesn't flex very much, it looks

 It does have a little bit of a kind of spring to it with our son in it and it hit going

 Now the max weight capacity of this thing shows as 40 pounds.

 I don't, I guess it depends on the size of the kid.

 One thing is, is if you have a very small child, the size aren't really any sides here.

 So if you have like a one, a one year old or a really small child and you want some

 side support with like handles, almost the Thule ride along does have that where it has

 kind of like a nice side that comes over and down.
