My overwhelming love for the thing aside, I will parrot what other reviewers have inevitably mentioned: this bag is bulkier and heavier than a number of others on the market. My friend brought her REI Joule on our trip; hers was less than half the size of my Cat's Meow, and about half the weight. That said, she paid three times the price for it, and we both agreed that my bag was more comfortable.

-Reasonably priced (I'm a pretty frugal soul, and I think it's a great bang for your buck). Try and catch it on sale if you can.

-It's bulky and heavy. Truly if it weren't for this major Achille's heel, it'd be the sleeping bag of my wildest dreams.

At 2 pounds, 10 ounces, the Cat’s Meow is one of the lightest synthetic bags in its price range and class. It packs down to a size smaller than a soccer ball when stuffed in its included compression sack. A better compression sack could pack it even smaller.

The bag retails for $159 (regular length) and $169 (long). It is a bargain price to start with, and I bought it earlier this year after finding a good deal at a local outdoors shop.

Best Sleeping Bags 2021 - The North Face Cat's Meow Review

 It'S gon na be about the North, Face cats meow and it's rated 220 degrees. Comfort rating of 33 comes in four different sizes. It comes in short, regular long and extra long. Now I have the short version, so we're going to talk mostly about that

 However, I took it camping with me this past weekend and overnight the temperatures dropped down to 29 degrees, possibly lower than that. I guess the AccuWeather real feel was lower than that and I didn't take a tent. So I was just on my mat: foam, the therm-a-rest ridge. Rest, I believe, is the foam mat that I have and then I used the climate static

 So if you're using this for winter purposes, I would recommend against it it's a pretty decent bag for backpacking, though, and like the fall months will early fall like August September, I don't know, maybe a couple weeks in October. I guess it really depends on where you live, but I would not use this for winter camping if that was what you're looking for this bag is not suited for those conditions. Now, as I stated, I'm gon na be doing several reviews this week. You can look forward to the review that I'm gon na do on a Coleman, Silverton bag believe that one's rated 225 degrees, which was also used this past weekend, and I'm going to do a episode where I talk about some of my recent gear pickups and I Believe my Karen box for November comes in this week, so I may do an episode on that this week when that comes in this concludes this episode

 It took a couple tries of messing with the straps to get the hang on this, but after taking it out for one full day on the mountains I am thrilled with this purchase. This is a very intuitively designed bag. I'm thrilled with it.

 Plenty of room in those front pockets. You've got a nice carry handle right here up at the top and that's big enough that you can access that with gloves on. The other thing I Really like about this pack is that a lot of the zipper pulls here our glove friendly, so they're big enough that even if you've got bulky gloves on, you can still open and close them. The buckles as well are also glove friendly, so it's those small attentions to detail that make this pack really unique

 As you can see, this back panel here is very smooth. You've got plenty of padding, and this is actually a thermoformed and contoured back panel. Snow isn't gonna be able to build up on there, it's just gonna wipe right off. so this is gonna actually keep you dry if you need to take the pack off and get into your gear, it's the same along the shoulder harness

 so if we take a look at the shoulder harness and the back panel, you've got two sizes here for the torso, so be sure to check those sizes on the product page to be certain what's going to be best for you. But not only the torso length is women's specific, but the contours in the shoulder harness, contours in the hip belt, and even the width of those features are women's specific, so that's going to keep you that much more comfortable when you're in the backcountry. As you can see, this back panel here is very smooth. You've got plenty of padding, and this is actually a thermoformed and contoured back panel
