I liked all of the MR bags, high quality and comfortable fit. Foe the Coulee 25, I found packing the Coulee or Scree with a laptop very difficult. Things wouldn’t fit nicely and there is no way to protect your laptop from the soft edges (the frame sheet is too narrow). So, it has to be in a case, which made packing the rest of the bag cumbersome

The bag sheds water pretty well we got caught in a few rain showers and the water never soaked into the bag and just beaded up and ran off. My only complaint, and the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, is that there isn’t any internal storage options or even an option to add internal storage. I wish that it had either some zippered pockets on the inside that stored out of the way when not in use or some internal molle or some kind of attachment points on the back and sides so that you could add pouches if you wanted to. I had a med kick and another pouch with batteries and a few other items in it and it would have been nice to mount those up higher in the bag to easily find when needed

I've been hiking and backpacking for quite a while and have the packs to show for it. For me, the Coulee is the most comfortable and durable day pack I've ever owned. I've only had mine for about a year but I've beat it up since day one and have never felt the need to be gentle with the zippers or material. It's the difference between the 330D of the Coulee and the roughly 100D of something like the Osprey Talon

The shoulder straps and hip belt are way overbuilt for a 25L pack. Smaller Mystery Ranch packs at REI have smaller shoulder straps which would be preferable on this pack (this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). Other reviewers have noticed this as well. The wide shoulder straps are fine from a comfort standpoint but just don't feel right on the pack

I love using my borealis backpack for both work and my weekend hikes. The section for my laptop is great and it's also comforting knowing that it's protected with the padding inside. The straps are great and comfortable when I take it out for a hike and carries just about all you'll need for a good long hike trip. Would definitely recommend it for its range of features

Bought it last month took it on first hike. It fit well just wished had more internal pockets and the zippers get hung up. Little small in the main body barely holds two T-shirt and a rain jacket plus food. Just need a little more time with it
