Svord peasant blade vs Bark River Gunny

Love the Svord! Such an awesome knife for a great price. I think I got my full size and mini for $10-$12 each.

What a fantastic knife! You get more than what you pay for with Benchmade! Beautifly made, wooden handle, tough as nails steel! Benchmade build's them right. "When men were made of steel, ships were made of wood, and guns were made of both!" Benchmade knifes are a part of that storied history. Best damn knifes made in the world!

The blade isn't strong at all. Came with a chip in the edge, and varies between having a sharp and a dull edge. For the wood the finish although it's suppose to be "rustic" was really poorly done with gouges and an unfinished side. And the screws/posts didn't fit into the wood well at all

But the quality shows. The knife is easily opened and closed using the thumb stud. It is ambidextrous. It is easy to open the very first time and it loosens a little more with use

This pin was not present on the knife I ordered. This meant there was nothing stopping the blade from going too far backwards except the tension on the screws. The problem is, if you set them tight enough to stop the blade from going backwards, it's very difficult to open. I don't know why they stopped putting this pin in, or if it's only my knife that it happens to be missing from

I love this knife and the benchmade company. My only reasoning for not being five stars is that one side of the diamond wood is a lot darker than the other and it looks quite off putting. Other than that it's fantastic!

The handle is rough but the blade seems pretty good. It is bigger than you would think but not in a good way.

It is thinner stock. It still has the quick taper point, so the points not fragile. It retains that nice ergonomic shape to the handle, which is great...

When the knife arrived it felt very light, not a good light but cheap, knife people know what I mean. The handles are very very misaligned and is covered in splinters. Sanding doesn’t help as it’s made of like a weird plywood looking material. Most certainly not the knife I was excited to receive

Holding it in my hand, the Diamond Wood scales have a great feel: Smooth and though not super "grippy", I never feel out of control of the knife. The weight is just right for me.
