No doubt it is fragile. I bought it to replace a glass teapot that broke because it was put in a too-crowded kitchen cabinet, and I've broken at least one other over the years. I've decided to keep this one in its box on an out-of-the-way shelf. Alas, I can't recommend it for office use

And the strainer looks well made. No issues with it whatsoever. The glass container is made in Japan. It looks and feels fragile and thin, and I am careful with it, but paradoxically, it also feels strong and not like it will break very easily
