Strider 14x Sport Balance Bike vs Woom 1 12-Inch Balance Bike

5 he outgrew the smaller one so I figured I’d upgrade to this one….mistake. I will list the pros and cons below Pros: •Easy assembly- If you are initially using as a balance bike, assembly is like 3 steps. As a parent who loathes putting together kids items with 5K pieces, that was great! Adding the pedals is also very simple with clear instructions •Made well (construction/sturdiness)- handle bars, frame are constructed nicely and very sturdy

We’ve personally purchased 3 balance bikes and our children have ridden countless more (all of varying brands) in the last 3-4 years. The Woom bike is leaps and bounds above any other balance bike out there. We purchased this bike for my daughter for her 2nd birthday and within about 2 weeks, she was able to ride it profeciently and even glide quickly down gradual hills. She’s not a bike riding prodigy by any means, and I completely attribute her quick learning to the exceptional design of this bike

We have lots of room for adjustments in height but to me it seems like the handlebar is too far to reach. I know it may take getting used to longer and I don't want to push her too hard but this wasn't cheap so I am quite bummed. So I am more or less giving my kid 4 instead of 5 stars rather than the bike but it's just not a fit for every single kid. I will update if it changes

I don't want him to have a bike with coaster brakes since it's not what he will ride when he's older. It came with a bell that he loves and it works really well..

However, it didn’t work well (maybe we couldn’t get the seat low enough, maybe the seat is not as far back as it is on the actual balance bike). We were hesitant to buy 2 new balance bikes because we thought they were for younger kids and that we missed the opportunity/time window for our kids. We were looking into getting a pole/stick to put it on the back of a bike but it didn’t seem like the bikes we had were designed for that. Then we found then that Strider has a larger size of bikes and purchased two of these balance bikes

It is easy to reach and requires very little pressure to apply it. Overall it is a very well designed bike, and it looks great too! It is also very light weight. The company has a buy-back upgrade program that seems to be a great deal. I will most likely participate in that program when it's time for him to move up to the next size bike

5 year old but seems like he'll size out of it soon though. The description says ages 4-7 but that's pretty generous in my opinion.

My daughter doesn't even break 30 pounds, so having a lightweight bike was necessary for her. I know Woom products come with a hefty price tag, but I unequivocally recommend their products for new, aspiring riders. Don't waste your time and money with heavy, cheap, bikes with training wheels. Get your child on a balance bike, then go straight to pedals!

This will NOT transfer the balance bike to a real bike. First, because there is no hand break, it has to use “rotate back break”. This is extremely confusing and my kid will just suddenly being stopped because he accidentally hit the pad in reverse direction. Second, because it kind of still want to keep the balance bike mode, the pads are really small, and the kid’s foot will slip from pad from time to time

We've had a few balance bikes now that didn't really inspire the kids to ride. The soft wheels, great comfy seat, sweet handlebars and BRAKE, make this bike the very best. Buy quality when it counts. My kids love this bike

I bought the pedal conversion kit and love that we will get many years’ use. It’s built very well and should also last as a hand-me-down. If your kid doesn’t care for the tricycle or fears training wheels, a “strider“ balance bike is exactly what you need (I obviously can’t speak to other brands as I’ve never owned them). I guarantee you won’t regret this purchase!

My son is 36" and 34 lb. when we bought it so he has no problem handling the bike and it should last him for 1.5-2 years (2 summers for us). At that point we are keeping with woom and buying a woom pedal bike!
