Sterkmann 30L Expandable Backpack vs Targus Drifter II

I would say you should get the 30L travel backpack! I used the 30L EDB for my last semester in college but I was lucky because I never had to carry any books or papers with me but now that I have the 45L Travel backpack I probably would've used that more TBH. Don't get me wrong, I love the EDB but if you're going to be carrying some bigger stuff and you want more room or even space for some files the travel backpack is going to be your best bet

The Good: This is an extremely roomy backpack with plenty of space, a great number of roomy pockets, well-constructed zippers, and well-thought out extras. It has enough interior space for a 2-3 days worth of clothes. Really, in terms of size and the ability to sequester stuff, this is an excellent design. The straps are comfortable; the hidden, zippered back pocket is a great touch; it's well-padded; and the top pouch is extremely accessible and roomy

Rather than return it I'm thinking I'll take it to a luggage repair place and have them do what Targus should have done. Reinforce the carry handle or replace the steel cable with something that won't rip thru the nylon. Extend the straps a couple more inches and add heavy stitching in a boxed X pattern to secure the straps.

This is a sleek-looking expandable backpack with a plethora (read too many) zippers. While it seemed versatile, I returned it because it's weighty empty, the faux leather felt cheap and there was no chest strap. I could envision being pressed for time in an airport and trying to remember where I put my passport or other important item. It's got that many pockets, all black

On arrival, bag seemed great. Fit all my needs for laptop, work and personal items. Purchased in April 2022, use was 3-4x per week, by September, zipper was broken on pocket that had minimal use. After multiple emails and photos back and forth with Targus

I bought this backpack back in October of 2019. WIth very minimal use just going to and from work, opening it twice in the morning to load/unload and then in the evening to unload it, the main zipper for the front compartment failed on the corner. Now the bag will not fully close on one side. Overall the bag appears well made and very thought out, however the durability of a zipper is a major failure point to use the bag properly ongoing

This backpack is huge. As a one-hour a day commuter, five days a week to my college campus, I needed something that could hold all my stuff, books, notebooks, calculator, laptop, papers, pencils, pens, erasers, headphones, sunglasses, stapler, flash drives, water bottle(s), gym clothes, mouse, power cables, etc..

The backpack is top notch! There's tons of little compartments, which makes packing easy, it has a shoe bag, laundry bag, and a little packing cube. I had issues finding a backpack that would fit my 15" MacBook Pro and this one has a compartment for it where it will fit perfectly, AND another 13" MacBook Pro. PERFECT for business travel. not only that but the backpack is EXPANDABLE!!! It's also a super comfortable fit

When i need to take my programmer somewhere, then it takes a ride. One thing that I have to agree with a couple other reviewers on is that the bottom could use a little more padding. If you are a complete moron and do not take care of your stuff or you do not mean to set it down so hard by slipping or falling, you may smack that laptop a bit. I do not worry so much for myself but to make sure, I cut out some extra foam for the bottom just to make sure this was not an issue, ever
