Congratulations! Out of the many Spydercos I ve got the Manix 2 remains one of my favorites due to the great ergos and awesome blade. Its just melts in hand and is my go to knife for breaking down cardboard.

NKD: First Spyderco, decided on the Manix 2 and couldn’t be happier.

  I've kept this knife at 5 stars because I don't just "like it", I "love it" despite the mentioned caveats.

 Saying that, I did recently cut about 10 feet of living room carpet with it and it handled the job well.  The only consideration of dropping this down to four stars is the price. As another reviewer commented here, $93 dollars is a premium price for the quality of steel you are getting. For $30-50+ more you can get a knife with steel that is in the upper echelon of "super steels" that all knife makers including Spyderco provide

Sharp, fun, and disappears in your pocket (but needs frequent sharpening)

 I swapped ti scales and cage and it weighs a ton but its like a freaking tank, love it. Definitely check out the ti or aluminum cage, makes a big difference.

 The locking mechanism is solid, the handles are comfortable, the blade is utilitarian for just about anything you need a pocket knife for, and it’s a US made Spyderco for $105. Forgot to mention that I love Spyderco’s wire clips because they’re quite inconspicuous and don’t cause a hot spot for me when using the knife.

What's a good edc?

  Blade HQ and any American company that deals ONLY with knives will pride themselves at delivering authentic products. It'll cost about $10 more but still be eligible for Prime shipping & worry-free returns.  Stick to USA merchant names that include words like "Blade" & "Cutlery."

 Very tough material but no heavy steel liners!  -you can slice super-tough material very easily (Garden Hose, Cardboard, Tarp, leather, etc)  - will easily stab & puncture moderate & soft substances easily... ***Do not fear the unique lock!! Your wrist will fold before the blade crushes the steel ball-bearing
