Sole F63 Treadmill Review

This is a long term review of the Sole F63 treadmill. I purchased from Dick's Sporting Goods and purchase the 3 year extended warranty. August of 2010 will be the end of the third year so far I have had the console replaced twice because the display was starting to fade out in certain places and have replace the front roller once because one of the magnets that controls the speed kept falling out and the roller started squeaking. Also had the "running" deck replaced and I imagine it is going to break again

 At least buy the extended warranty. I have received pretty good service from the warranty company. Hope this long term review helps.

 I called Sole and a 2-3 week process began to get parts and a technician out to fix the brand new unit. To their credit, Sole did fix the problem, but I am dismayed that a $1000 treadmill can show up broken. Sole is a US company, but most of the unit is made in China. Someone at Sole needs to get their manufacturing partners in line

eTL:DR. Sole F63 treadmill keeps burning out speed control board - board, motor both replaced twice, belt replaced once, seems like the board is about to burn out again. I know this reads like an email I should send to Sole support, but I'm just so frustrated with them at this point, and I'm hoping that a benevolent and wise redditor can offer some insight. I have an F63 that I bought about 18 months ago

 You must have at least two STRONG people or pay for installation. The motor and tread weighs someting like 150 lbs and is around 5 feet long so it is not easy to move around. My brother and I had to get it down a set of stairs. He is strong as an ox, but was ready to give up by the time we made it to the bottom

  The only downside is that it is big, heavy, and, though foldable, not very stowable. Getting it setup in my house was a heck of a workout. Exactly what I was looking for

  I chose the F63 because the F80 was 50% more in price and I couldn't justify the price difference. The F80 does have a better deck, larger motor and better warranty. But the warranty on the F63 is not that bad. The deck is a little harder but it's more flexible than the street! I also liked the electronics on the F63 more than the F80

Excelllent Choice for the Money

I like to run close to the screen and it's impossible to do on this treadmilll without constantly stepping on the motor cover. I can't believe they could test this treadmill design and think the size of the hood wasn't an issue. Buyer beware.

 There's kind of some glitches in this app, but they're slowly working them out. Really, all you can do with the app though is either control your treadmill so you access your programs and and choose your settings and that being on your phone and it'll control the treadmill for you. or you can take the app with you on a run outside to be your activity tracker.  Very few treadmill manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty anymore, but the Sole F80 does. It has a lifetime warranty on the frame and the motor, with a five-year warranty on electronics and parts and a two-year warranty for labor. the Sole F80 comes with a nine inch LCD backs backlit display. So backlit just means that it lights up and you're gonna be able to see it in a dark room, so that's really convenient

Sole F80 Treadmill Review (2020 Model)

. It pains me to think about the money and time I wasted on the Horizon treadmill when I could have just started with the Sole and saved myself a lot of misery.

 I ended up purchasing the Sole F80 after making the tough decision to cut my losses and get rid of the less-than-one-year-old Horizon treadmill and could not be happier with it (the Sole is clearly a MUCH better quality machine, requires less maintenance in terms of lubing the tread deck, etc. cannot say enough good things about it). I have made it my mission to make sure people don't make the same mistake I did.

With the changing weather/availability of sunlight, we’ve decided to get a treadmill. I’ve done a fair amount of research and am stuck on which one to go with, Sole F80 or Horizon 7.0 AT. 

The Sole has better overall reviews but I’m not sure if they’re worth $600 more. 

Currently I can get the Sole delivered for $1600 plus tax or the Horizon for $1000 delivered plus tax. 

The specs on both seem pretty good. We don’t care about connectivity due to having Garmins and tablets.

 The F63 has a little bit lower of a horsepower motor, so those three specs right there for me are a little bit more of a deal maker where the At-63 with the dimensions and also the lower horsepower motor is a little bit of a deal breaker. Now you might think for the price difference, the F63 is definitely uh, worth it and those things don't matter to you, but in my use case, those things do matter to me. Now let's talk about the warranty too, since we're talking about the deck, the motor and the belt. Now it's a lifetime warranty on the frame, the deck and the motor

I got a Sole F80 and really enjoy it. If you’re already running consistently, you’ll likely get your monies worth out of it. 

Depending on where you’re going to keep it, make sure you have the right height clearance. Mine is in the basement, so I needed to make sure the “step up” height wasn’t too high that’s I’d be hitting my head on the ceiling. Thinking of getting a treadmill..

  My requirements: 3HP motor or better, 60 inch deck, good belt, incline, good warranty and fairly quiet. I say fairly because my running or the wife's "pounding" power walk is louder than most treads.  I'm not into bells and whistles. The more electronic gadgets the more points of failure

 I need something to handle a long hard run/pounding. My wife wants something quiet that can handle her stomping for over an hour along with her need to change the incline and speed every 2 minutes.  We tried treads at Sears and local smaller stores. Our requirements would cost another $500 to $1000 more than the comparable Sole and wouldn't get near the Sole warranty

 After two weeks the thump is about half as loud.  The new Sole's have my specs for some of their lower end treads so you may want to check them out. A new sub $1000 treadmill with my requirements, the warranty and the quality of these monsters is a tough find. So far I'm happy I found this one
