Lastly, the button closure on the sheath is actually on the inside! That just blows my mind. For the price, it's not a terrible buy. But it's not going to replace my Mossy Oak knife for regular use by a long shot. It'll have to play second fiddle to my Gerber as well

The leather sheath after drawing and inserting the knife a dozen times is being cut up and has already poked out the end on two occasions. The knife itself is great for the price but the sheath is a waste and isn’t lasting making the knife useless as well.

-Sheath/scabbard - The material feels well constructed and the belt clip keeps it exactly where I want it to stay. If nothing else I would have paid this much just for the sheath. The blade's tip is impressive. If you know how to throw knives with accuracy or you want this for just its tip then you wont be disappointed

Anyone who has read my other knife reviews know this is a constant complaint: Why, oh why do manufacturers sabotage a fine knife with a bad sheath?? This one is leather and quality isn't the issue. It's one of those ridiculous "boot knife" sheaths with a back clip rather than a proper suspended belt loop. In the first place, almost nobody carries a knife in their boot or a heavy sock except a small minority of outlaw bikers and bag pipers. And true boot knives have shorter blades and grips

This Schrade knife has a great strength to weight because you don't need to haul extra weight with all your other gear. (This is why I prefer a Glock over a Sig.) The 440 Stainless Steel is pretty fool proof. You get a lot for a low price and low weight

The 7Cr17MoV Steel is supposed to be equally to a cheap 440A. Wouldn’t have expected any more from a Chinese made steel, and the Price for this dagger. However, as a knife collector, I’ve expected more quality from a S&W knife. It isn’t the sharpest of my collection OOB

The steel of the blade feels cheap and light. It seems like it could be bent or broken with ease. The coating on the blade is mediocre at best. It is one of those that will flake off with the first good stabbing or sharpening

This is not something you want to take out in the woods and use as a Workhorse, it's a knife that's design to stab a soft target. The sheath is what I really want to talk about, and I'm impressed by Smith & Wesson's sheath for this knife. It's probably one of the best sheaths I've had for a boot knife. The size of the blade is what I expected (not trying to be Rambo), but the handle is rather small/shorter than expected. My hands are not huge mitts as you can see in the photos. Yet even still, the handle seems a tad bit too small.

While it may not be entirely fair, I will be comparing this knife to a Gerber Mk II which clearly seems to be it's inspiration. It is lighter than Mk II and feels less substantial. The handle seems slimmer in the hand. For users with larger hands this may affect grip
