Smith & Wesson Boot Knife Fixed Blade Flat Dark Earth vs Smith & Wesson Dagger Boot Knife

Cant really say much about the blades durability since its a recent buy, but the blade seems decent. Nothing spectacular, but for the price its an alright buy. Clip is strong and sturdy, but the sheath is already showing signs that its about to break. Every time I sheath or unsheathe the blade it seems I'm getting closer to the inevitable snap of the sheath

Recently, I saw some of these S&W knives on sale at a deeply discounted price here on Amazon. So I ordered 3 of these out of curiosity. In MY world, they aren't junk or toys. They are full tang daggers made from quality steel with a leather locking scabbard and a steel spring belt clip

The two halves of the sheath are held together with 8 eye rivets so it's pretty durable and if you really wanted to you could weave some cord through. The main negative is the edge is not sharpened well. You might want to touch it up, although this thing is really more like a fancy letter opener so I guess it's OK. UPDATE: I bumped it up a star to 5 because other units seem to be a bit sharper than mine

This is not something you want to take out in the woods and use as a Workhorse, it's a knife that's design to stab a soft target. The sheath is what I really want to talk about, and I'm impressed by Smith & Wesson's sheath for this knife. It's probably one of the best sheaths I've had for a boot knife. It actually stays clipped to my combat boot

Exactly what I was looking for: lightweight, stainless steel, slim profile, very sharp out of the box, and a great poly scabbard.

The 7Cr17MoV Steel is supposed to be equally to a cheap 440A. Wouldn’t have expected any more from a Chinese made steel, and the Price for this dagger. However, as a knife collector, I’ve expected more quality from a S&W knife. It isn’t the sharpest of my collection OOB

I’d like it if S&W made replacement or additional sheaths available, my shepherd got a hold of the sheath and did some good damage, it can kind of still be used, but replacing it would be nice.

-Sheath/scabbard - The material feels well constructed and the belt clip keeps it exactly where I want it to stay. If nothing else I would have paid this much just for the sheath. The blade's tip is impressive. If you know how to throw knives with accuracy or you want this for just its tip then you wont be disappointed

It also came butter knife dull. The handle is comfortable and the price tag was cheap so it is what it is. I wouldn't buy it again.

The size of the blade is what I expected (not trying to be Rambo), but the handle is rather small/shorter than expected. My hands are not huge mitts as you can see in the photos. Yet even still, the handle seems a tad bit too small.

Size is good, feels pretty ok in my big hands. The sheath is good enough, knife fits snugly, could be used as a neck knife maybe. Balance is pretty good. Overall it's a solid little boot knife for the price

Lastly, the button closure on the sheath is actually on the inside! That just blows my mind. For the price, it's not a terrible buy. But it's not going to replace my Mossy Oak knife for regular use by a long shot. It'll have to play second fiddle to my Gerber as well
