Simplehuman Compact Steel Frame vs Premiumracks Professional Stainless

Bought this as a replacement for my old Super Human workhorse dish drainer which finally died after many years. This new model has many fewer features: no knife slots in the cutlery basket, drain tray under cup clips does not retract nor do clips themselves. The plastic material of the drainer itself is thinner and the plate rack inside is less sturdy and is not adjustable at all. This is not the robust and well engineered product I expected from Super Human and at this price point

Not good. Placing large pans or pots in the rack was OK unless you had other things to dry; there just wasn't room for much else once the pasta pot or large fry pan was set in there. Lastly the drying board was not a good fit to the rack, in that the rack sits awkwardly on the board. You would think the manufacturers would provide a drain board to accommodate the feet of the rack, but not so

This one has a metal grate with large tines on one side (for plates) and no tines on the other. It's very difficult to use the non-tine side effectively. If they had put the metal support in a different spot, maybe used two in an offset pattern from the one they did, it would work the way I need it to by allowing items to slot into the grate instead. As it is, I can't lean anything, it all slides down

I was really hoping that this dish rack would work out for me, but unfortunately, it did not.

I really like this dish rack, small, sleek, and clean looking. The only suggestion I have is too make the sides shorter, so you are not seeing a lot of aluminum.

I tried folding it in half and it's too small. Either way, doesn't look good at all. 3. The cutting board and clip-on glass attachments actually hang outside of the drainboard's coverage (look at the photos)

It is too big. It is more like an appliance than a dish rack. I have purchased your compact dish rack for years and loved them, but this one is not compact at all the sides are too high and it is too big and clunky. A dish rack should be light and invisible to the eye, not something that everyone sees when they come into the kitchen

Let's start with the most important details: It looks like it could actually be 304 stainless (time will tell). Honestly, the design of this thing isn't great. It takes up a lot of space when fully outfitted. Worse is that it's just kind of awkward fully outfitted

3. Flexibility in Size. It's both con and pro. It's very flexible, so don't worry about counter top space

So when it gets wet, it looks tacky. Way to expensive for plastic. Would not recommend.

Materials have not lived up to what is promised with this one. That in mind, it is still a relatively large sturdy strainer that may suit your needs well. Just don't expect the metal to perform like true stainless steel.

I had to replace the first SH compact one that was bought over 10 years. It was made of plastic so getting a stainless steel look is definitely an upgrade. The rack is solid made, golden standard of the brand. I missed the feature of the sprout from the old one that I could pivot to different side, not a deal breaker though

The stainless steel always looks good and cleans easily. Since it is so visible, that is very important to me. The plastic/rubber ones tend to quickly look dirty, stain easily and are hard to clean in the grooves. 3

I love this dishrack! I particularly appreciate its sturdiness and its add-on wine glass rack that takes 5 seconds to install or remove. This rack literally makes cleanup easier. One critique: after struggling to understand the dimensions online, I first ordered the small size, which was too small. The basic dimensions of the "bin" of the large size are 20"D x 13 1/2"W plus 3 3/4" draining tray under the glass holders

it's sturdy, and the chrome/stainless is holding up so far and looks nice. The knife drying attachment is nice, and the butcher block holder is a certified "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!" feature. BUT -- three cup holders is a weird low number and they are a weird-small size. And it's not really all that configurable
