SIG Sauer P226 XFive - Made in America

 Recently, Sig Sauer has been known for their Polymer Wonder Nines, but every once in a

 while they like to remind us that even though they like to party, they can still be formal

 If you've ever been to Disney on ice and had to answer the question, but why are they

 ice skating about 45 minutes into the show and be like, I have no idea, go ahead and

 I'm David and this is the Sig Sauer P226X5 made in America.

 So the X5 was the original competition trim of the P226 for IPSC standard division and

 kind of the features that made this the sporting gun where it had a five inch barrel like other

 It had a stainless steel frame making it heavier.

 The sport versions had a kind of like thumb rest, a sport lever, whatever you want to

 They were single action only and they had adjustable triggers where you can actually

 adjust the trigger pull weight, the over-travel and to a limited extent, the pre-travel.

 Fast forward to now and Sig Sauer is reintroducing these manufactured in their Newington, New

 This is done by the Sig custom shop and what that means is that the machining is done to

 And it's thanks largely to how they have relieved the trigger guard where the gun absolutely

 The bevel on the safeties is such that your hand sweeps right up onto the manual safety

 so that when you sweep it down, it becomes a nice little paddle for your thumb to rest

 And if you don't shoot single action guns with your thumb resting firmly on the safety,

 You'll notice next that there is an extended magazine release, but it doesn't get in the

 way when you actually build a grip on the pistol.

 So when you build a grip on the pistol, your thumb rests naturally.

 If you're correct handed and not left handed, if you're left handed, then figure life out.

 I can't believe you chose to do that to yourself.

 But if you are not left handed, your thumb will find a home right there on this thumb

 And then you'll notice there is a little pin that keeps the thumb rest from rotating because

 it is the takedown lever, if it rotates and recoil, it could create malfunction.

 If you want to take it apart, and this isn't in the manual guys, if you want to field strip

 it to clean it, then you have to push with it in battery and unload it like it is.

 Then you push the lever up, you push the pin in, and then when you lock the slide to the

 rear, you can take the gun apart like you would any other 226.
