 It's a tremendous reel that DC technology is awesome. It's the same technology as in the Corrado DC and you might get a tackle junkie. A gear junkie like myself that gripes about that this doesn't have the micro gears like that real does. But I Love that reel and I Love this reel

Okay, so it allows this reel to read in microseconds this spool speed to help make sure that you don't have birds nests and backlashes. but it's also going to help you with accuracy on your cast and casting distance so you can fish from lightweight kind of baits all the way to heavy stuff. SHIMANO SLX DC LONG TERM REVIEW! Is it worth the money?

For example, a shimano slx dc (180$) has 5 bearings but I'll be wayyyyy smoother that one of those lasting reels you see on amazon with 15 bearings (those are like 30-50$). The quality and placement of the bearings is what matters most. However, on the lower end reels (like this uglystick one) the difference in ball bearings can matter a lot.

Just like the title, looking at picking one of the ugly Stik Elite Baitcast combos on sale but found that it only had 3 bearings. I have an entry level lews laser mg Baitcast Combo and I believe it has 8 bearings? How is there such a difference? Do the amount of bearings really make a difference?

 If I had any cons about the reel it would be the drag. I wish Shimano would beef up their drag To at least 18 to 20 pounds drag. With that said I would still give it an A —

I do plan on purchasing another DC reel.

 But if blind folded I bet couldnt tell which was which casts same . Actually i find i get a little more cast distance with this than i did with the 250$ version

 also bought this one feels same works same.. price differance prob just getting better gears than this one .

 It's a 150 sides so it just fits really nicely in your hand. You know it's not a full 200 size reel if the hand nicely. just a great looking great feeling. Real drag was super smooth

 Today was the deal breaker, right? I Fell in love with this reel today. It's it's but it's by far one of my new favorite bait casting reels. But let's take a little closer look. I'll give you guys some zoomed in shots and some of the key features on this reel

 The spool I mean it's all I can say this reel is is great I Believe it, it's a 279 at retail under $300 I think that Shimano is. You know they have a lot of higher end, more expensive reels and I think a lot of their technologies are trickling down into the middle price point reels. Those are great thing about this reel. It has that infinite braking system on its side

 This is a loot cloth with an SJ from Dirty Jigs and we were fishing for spotted bass. The water is pretty dirty, pretty murky, muddy, and the fish are fairly shallow up underneath tree branches and so I spent most the days skipping this little jig up underneath those branches and reeling. Shimano Chronarch MGL Casting Reel Review

I personally don't have one but I have a Shimano metanium and my friend has the chronarch. I casted them both to try them out and absolutely hated the chronarch the metanium is only $60 cheaper on Amazon and it casts way better

Don't buy

 The Magnesium spool is certainly an improvement for cast-ability. Great reel that competes with my Metaniums.
